mackay, qld
Taking some mates and their wives down to Melbourne for the season opener (only 110 days to go).

Just looking for a bit of guidance....my wife and I will have our tickets thru membership but as it will probably be our only live game this year (living up in in nth qld) can we buy premium tickets (or even better premium tickets and grog and luncheon package) for everyone to get good seats  and have a really top notch experience.

I know it sounds like a bit of a wank and many would say just sit wherever and we may well do that but if I can guarrantee something not at the back row of the top level then I am keen to pay the extra money and try.

P>S> I know they could all buy tiger memberships but as it is their first taste of afl live, I think it may be better to take it one step at a time before I convert them.

Any positive advice appreciated guys.

Re: March 26, friday night at the G.

Hi Rolls - everytime I make the trip to Melbourne for a game, I always buy premium reserved seats. I can get in general admission with my membership, but you're travelling all that way, spend a bit extra to make it that much of a better experience. I sat in the front row for the centenary game v the Blues and it was great to taste the atmosphere from the big crowd in the front row, even if it did cost a bit more.

And d-rod is right, the game is on a Thursday night.

Is ticketek the agent for premium reserved seats BT and can I book them yet?

I think Ticketmaster do tickets for the MCG and they wouldn't be on sale yet.

Found a link:

You can book admission plus reserved seats for your friends and just reserved seats for your missus and yourself. Highly unlikely there'd be anything bookable till about a month out from the game.
Probably would need to contact the club to try and book a proper meal on the night as a lot of the dining areas are either coterie or sponsor.

Especially get in early on the unlikely off chance that Ben Cousins stands shoulder to shoulder with Chris Judd on Round 1 - Game 1 of the 2009 AFL Season, as it might go close to selling out if this happens! 72,000 people attended last year so you might expect 80,000 - 85,000 if Cuz were to line up for the Tigers on that night.......

Another Cousins thread... was so glad Rolls Royce wasn't starting a Cousins hype thread, but cringed as I knew it was coming...sure enough...by the 9th reply or so there it is. *sighs*

Yep, Ben has to be referenced now DD. How could he not? But only 6 sleeps to go...until it's all over... or has it only just begun?

Please double D , tell me it wont happen so I can sleep easy tonight.

Just about choked on my flat white when I read a reference to the Tigers interest in Cousins today.

It is a simple equation. The man is not cured and cannot be allowed to infiltrate our club which is finally on the upward spiral.

*smile* Double D, i have even stooped to the C word in my own thread about another subject. :o :o :o :o

At least your coffee was cheaper than the beverage I was sipping on last night when I found out the news.

I don't think my friends appreciated it being spat out over them. :hihi

Is this match actually Good Friday eve? Seriously considering an Easter jaunt to Melb for this ... if it is. The Cuz v Judd thing has a certain allure.

Nope - Good Friday is the 10th April.
