March said that while the Tigers' round-one performance against Carlton had been "disgraceful", the club's subsequent losses to Geelong and the Western Bulldogs were predictable and had come against the "two form sides of the competition. No one expected us to win those games and they are two very good sides".

so why did we bother to play if he didnt expext us to win????????????????????

often in life you don't expect to win, but you still hope and you still try.

Typical losers mentality that has been keeping this club down for the past 25 years.

I know exactly why Sheedy made the comment that the RFC can win the premiership. He knows too well that the mindset of this club has to change.

They treat us like idiots. A loss against the Bulldogs may have been predictable, and most here would have expected us to lose. But it is the way we played that has got most on here up in arms. It wasn't simply a loss, it was a capitulation, against a side that, if March really thought we could make the finals this year, we should have been able to push for the full 4 quarters. We didn't, we played one decent quarter and then rolled over and let them have their way with us. Like we have so many times before.

Losses I can handle, but not losses when we roll over like rounds 1 and 3.

Just more spin. :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin :spin

I've spoken to Gary on two occasions following certain comments in articles. It was interesting both times to know what was actually said and how differently it was written. I'm sure it's similar with other things said about the club too. If you can listen to the interviews you have a better understanding of what was actually said, but journos are experts at selecting choice cuts to suit their agenda.

I wouldn't read too much into Gary's comments from that article Felix. It's his job to appease the masses and keep the media at bay, preferably without stirring up controversy. I'd bet my house Gary is seething at our poor start to the season. The President has to address that from within though, not use it as burley to feed the circling media sharks.

The following was the real message from the article:

"We have to win the next game and we probably have to win the next two or three games and I believe we are more than capable of doing that. If we can't win the next two or three then I probably will say something."

The Prez is just biding his time. He knows as well as us that a win this Sunday is meaningless, a loss unacceptable. However, it's how we go against North & Sydney that is the real yardstick for Wallace.

We didn't expect to beat hawthorn last year either did we? Miracles to happen. Just not at punt road!!!!

To be honest I'm getting a little sick of this "we weren't expected to win" and the "relax" statements.

Whether we thought we'd win or not is immaterial. What we did expect is for 22 players wearing our jumper to go out there and bust their balls trying to win. No one should have worked off the ground with anything in reserve.

What we got in Rd 1 & 3 was nothing but a disgrace. The quicker the club realise that it's the manner of the loss, not the actual scoreboard itself that hurts, the quicker they'll stop making it worse in the media.

felix and everyone else hopping in on this topic, you have (deliberately) misconstrued his comments.
he said "no-one expected us to win those games", which is an extension of what Wallace said after the game on Monday.
ie no one in the media expected us to win those games.
of course internally they did expect to win and planned accordingly.
and as we now know, were unsuccessful due to our poor skills.
ffs, get a grip people.

The Prez is a loose cannon that can't keep his mouth shut. Likes reading about himself in the paper obviously

yet the media were bagging him on the radio yesterday for NOT coming about and saying something.

well that twerp Partick Smith complained.
i could completely understand if he doesn't get VIP treatment.
plenty of others had access - and have written March's support for Wallace up.
and by the way, March has only said two hundred plus times that Wallace will see out the year.
just cos he doesn't say it every hour on the hour is enough for Smith to suggest that he has failed to provide assurances.
fair dinkum these vultures are good.

Nobody actually takes fattrick smith seriously anymore do they.

He lost the plot years ago and continues to write shock jock articles in a pathetic attempt to get people to read them.

In times of financial crisis redundancy is a common occurance, suggest fattrick gets in line for his.

Don't see anything wrong with The Prez putting Wallace and the playing group on notice. Our performances against North and Sydney will show where we are really at. If we can't beat them both we can kiss finals goodbye and then the Board will be free to act as they see fit. It's all a matter of timing.
