Welcome to PRE Hampster. :)

Chaff is probably ready to come back in but for once we have the luxury of a bit of depth and can choose on form and match-ups rather than name or reputation.  It's good there's no pressure to rush players back in but 'm looking forward to seeing Chaff back out there soon just the same.

I reckon chaff could be a good matchup for farmer this week. God I hate that bloke. Especially after he kicks a goal.

Expect big things from Chaffey when he gets match fit.

He will be a breath of fresh air along the same lines as has Tivendale and Pettifer this year.

You might be on the money there Tiger!

I have a feeling you might be right.

My only concern I have is if he can hit targets under pressure. No prob in him reading the play & getting the ball as he wll be an asset there but just those costly turnovers. I believe he will get his chance over the next 2 weeks in the seniors to prove himself.

Does anyone know When Mark Chaffey will return ?

Big chance this week.

You suggested his form was strong in the Burgs reserves on the weekend.
What does he bring to the table that say Hartigan doesn't?

Experience & the hunger to be part of the new style under TW - Not that Hartigan isn't - Chaffey has played good footy under Frawely but TW can utilise him better than Frawely - just look at Hyde.

His position in the side has been taken by Raines and the likes of Polo, and Jackson with other promising kids such as Meyer and White to come so are we gonna drop kids for him - cos there is no room for him in my best tiger side

NO WAY i says the kids are the future and the course has been set, time is up for the Chaffeys and Gaspars and Staffords and hopefully a coupla others.

Depth player only - hes gonna get the bullet at years end anyways.

Thanks Skills.
It'll be very interesting to see what happens with the Bell Hop.
Unlike Hyde who was younger, Chaffey has more habits that are harder to break imo.
His kicking under pressure has always been a concern and as Craig has said in the previous post he's competeing with plenty of youngsters for a run.

Good luck to him but he's up against it IMO.
Mind you Wallace and co have straightened a few careers recently so anything's possible.

Look good luck to the chaffster but why would you rush him back when he hasn't even played for the Burgers senior side yet as part of his rehab?

Would like to think that you don't break up a winning side and that there is sufficient depths playing in the Burgers this week to cover our battle casualties. Admittedly it was almost probably worth our losses just to see Thompson's face post match ;D

Chaff I would hope, will have to play very well and for more than one week to get back in to the Seniors. Saying that if he stars he will probably deserve a run.

I'm with the common opinon - Chaff and Staff should have a game at home late in the season so that they can wave goodbye to their fans. Least we can do and if they are both match fit they will probably do OK - but they aren't the future and the future starts in 2007.
