Mark McVeigh out for 5 weeks

And Andrew Lovett has been suspended by the club for disciplinary reasons.

They have a few out injured/suspended - have they got enough players to field a team???

This is their biggest loss, Richo may be back but im not believing that until I see it, we have it on paper, I hope we can do it on the field.

I wouldn't change our lineup this week. If richo does come back I'd play him as a pinch hitter off the bench rather than have him play the entire game and be buggered near the end. We need to play him smarted now that's he's getting on.

Essendon have had serious injury issues all season. Had a burst of hammys, but have had a lot of groins, backs, and breaks to add to it.

Similar to us a couple of years ago (I think) when we seemed to lose a guy nearly every week.

Geez, they are understrength. Their form is good, but if we can't beat them with that many out then we don't deserve to be anywhere near the top 8.

Sounds like a bit of tanking to me....

So they waited until they couldn’t get a priority pick any more and were an outside chance of making the 8 and then started their tank? A cunning plan indeed.

I think they've surprised themselves the past couple of weeks, assess that based on their draw they can't make the 8 and, accordingly, decide to reign it in a bit rather than going for an honourable 9th, 10th or 11th place.
