Marlion Pickett!

Most likely the reason his form has dropped considerably this year. The pressure of this hanging over his head all season knowing it would eventually catch up with him. I really hope he is found innocent of any wrong doing.

Can only hope for his wife and kids that this is a misunderstanding over misadventure.
Been such a great role model for many young indigenous kids and pray that his reputation can be preserved.

I too worry about some of the posts I’ve seen here from so called Richmond supporters. Truely worrying how quickly some have jumped in and condemned him without knowing any facts.
Yep. His wife has been so impressive in the past.
I think we should wind this up at this stage until we know more.

Is it possible the club was aware of trouble ahead and that’s why Marlion was being played in forward line while Jack Ross was taking over the role on the wing or were they completely blindsided by the news

Might explain why we broke Lynchys foot too,

Save us taking him to brisbane to face charges of perverting the course of justice

By ARC'ing us out of the 2022 flag?

Lots of guesswork/speculation going on in this thread. I think I'll wait to see what the reality is.

The club will stand by Marlion & support him, as they should.

That's what I'm hoping happened.

One of the charges is receiving stolen goods. Be good if he inadvertently received them, or better still, had no involvement at all.

he's charged with aggravated burglary as well as receiving stolen goods so I think this is wishful thinking.

We know nothing of what happened. I would suspect he has been charged because someone he knows was involved, whether there is any substance to the allegations we just don't know.

We will have to let this play out but clearly Marlion is stating he is innocent, just hope he gets a fair chance to defend himself.

DS
If that was the case i imagine he would be charged as being an accessory to the alleged crimes.

It would appear to be. We obviously need to hear Marlions side, but it sounds like the police have enough evidence to say that a burglary took place and that they can place Marlion at the scene.

Yes, I’m afraid it can be inferred that the police will be alleging Marlion was at the scene.

Best case scenario is he wasnt there.

best case of the worst case is he was sitting in the car.

Ive unwittingly done that

And every one of us would have received stolen goods in way or another

Interesting Pickett has been charged with 'Aggravated' burglaries.

In Victoria, aggravated burglaries occur when the offender knows or is reckless or negligent as to someone being present at the time of entering the premises to assault, steal or cause damage therein.

Then I see that Pickett's charges apparently relate to commercial premises which are business locations and not residential, might just be the interstate terminology.

Bit of a generalisation there.

If youve earnt interest from a bank,

If youve got superannuation,
If youve eaten bread made on australian wheat,

If you backed Brisbane in the 2022 elimination final,

If youve ever bought anything in a pub,

Youve morally received stolen goods :peepwall

We didn't move Pell on so as not to prejudice the case so we damn better stand with Marlion.
Dosent meen it’s right , this could be something to do with his people that’s blown out of proportion, however if he’s simply robbed somebody , nah *smile* him off , his 31 getting good money and has 4 kids , it’s just a *smile* act if that’s the case , it’s not his first major *smile* up .

I’ll always back the club , however if we let Marlion stay after this ( if true and guilty) I think we are shitting on the rest of the club , dosent deserve any excuses on this one .

Connors and Stack repeat offenders , only mistake we made was keeping them too long .

Again this is a 31 year old father of 4 who has been given an amazing second chance by our football club and now he has bought incredible shame to his family , his people and our football club .

I hope we support him , however I also hope he dosent play football for us again if it’s true , this is not a second mistake .

to play at AFL level with this in the background is quite remarkable IMO and speaks to his fortitude.

i don't know nearly enough about this situation to comment meaningfully but I just love the man and hope he ends up OK.

It's a week today that I read a beautiful story about Marlion's boy Latrell, he loves the Tiges. He was in tears at the thought that the Tiges were going to lose to GWS, and he cried again when his dad, his hero, kicked the winning goal.

I hope like hell that Marlion is innocent, I, like Carter, love the bloke. Either way, I feel sorry for his wife Jess and his children.

Yes, first thing I thought of last night.
