Marlion Pickett!

Interesting decision for RFC now as to whether they let him play. Hopefully they do.

No violence seems involved so from that perspective any moral judgements seem easier.

With that said the white-collar crimes masked as grant programs of the previous federal government (IMO) far overwhelm anything Marlion has done - but crimes done with electronic numbers even though just as damaging as physical theft at least don't seem to have the same outrage associated with them.

We will see what happens.

You would expect the club to come out and say something pretty soon. (Perhaps they want to chat with Marlion first). I hope that they support him to play and maybe even throw a few barbs at the WA police and processes. It will need all the tiger faithful at the G to drown out the inevitable tirade and so on from opposition supporters!

I think it will come down to his headspace. This has to have knocked him around a bit. If what he wants, and more importantly needs, is to keep playing, I'd be surprised if we said no.

Reckon Marlion will be ok to play, especially if he has had this hanging over his head for a while. It will feel like a burden has been lifted to an extent.

If Saints supporters start to boo him expect supporters to get evicted
Media and AFL should come out strong against that behaviour after all they did that for Ugle-Hagen and Horne-Francis

He may not be permitted to travel to QLD after the bye. So if he misses this week and the next game, he will miss 3 weeks of footy which couldn't be good for his headspace.

Yeah not convinced and whether it is best and safe for Marlion to play I am not sure.

For me, everything needed to go right from here on in for the tigers to make the 8 - the last 2 games started to right the ship but I fear this distraction is something we can now I’ll afford. Remember Marlions case is to be adjourned in August, terrible timing for an AFL footballer and the club.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we have seen the last of Marlion this year.

My phone pings to Sydney sometimes, 800km away.
I worked for Telstra a long time ago, and we'd get billing complaints from folks in say, Gippsland, having calls registered in Burnie or Devenport. It was rare, very rare, but our trainers said it was just the location of the base station where the call registered, not where it was made.
Very circumstantial he was there, definitely not that he was there.

Even if there’s no problem with him playing this week, I wouldn’t if I were him, not until this whole mess has been sorted out. Some of the abuse on Twitter and the like is dreadful. I can imagine the abuse would be next level.

I feel slightly more at ease as more information is coming to light… seems more a case of questionable family/friends

I have no idea if he will play. AFL might stop him, club might stop him, he might not feel up to it, how does it impact the group? It’s impossible to get right for everyone. Horrible situation.

At Northland shopping centre Pickett image and story is on repeat on every screen through the centre
it’s disgraceful knowing he frequents the centre that he’d have to come across this

The report I read, said his phone was triangulated not just a ping, huge difference between the two. { does not prove who was in posession of the phone thou)
