Match review/ Appeal threads [Merged]

Finally common sense prevails. Staff should never have been up, the entire charge was outrageous. Absolutely delighted about Rainsey. As for Baker, the little pshyco deserves everything he gets. Who can forget his "memory loss" when he lashed out against Johnno - what a tool.

However, it is interesting how the various charges are seen and tackled, I think it all comes down to how well you are represented. Don't know what they're doing over in the west, but they've got some kind of secret weapon. How Kerr got the 1 week and Des Headland got off for his swipe at Pettifer still baffles me.

Hopefully Staff will put in a really big game on his 200th and celebrate with a Tiger win!

The message for all players is if you are going to hit someone, hit them dont attempt to hit them.

but then there is Headland. If that haymaker had connected with Pettifer he'd have been off sharing Roachy's chicken broth through a straw through June and July.

But it didn't: so no problem.

According to the Headland interpretation, you can now dangerously drive a car at a pedestrian so long as you just miss them

Raines and Stafford get off and Baker gets upped to 2 weeks which is deserved for that sniping little sod :rotfl

this obviouosly shows the tiger officials got it right and saints not so.

how were the saints going to try and get baker off, all jumper punches are obviously deliberate, thats why we didnt put simmo up. good to see the afl tribunal make amends for their stuff ups on our tiger boys too.

Yeah, but Simmo connected, and got 1 week.....Baker didn't connect and got 2 weeks! ;)

While its good to see a little sniper like Baker cop 2 weeks......on the other side of the coin, how *smile* is the tribunal system for them to come to a conclusion where someone doesn't hit anyone gets 2 weeks (identified as 'low impact'.....how can there be any impact, if it's only an attempted strike? :o))...whereas Simmo connects, gets 1 week....Kerr punches someone in the balls = 1 week....Mooney deliberate goes through the back of a young Kangaroo player with his elbow = 1 week....Farmer nearly breaks a Swans player's jaw = nothing......it is a joke.

And to make it even more of a farce, the Saints will most likely appeal, and Baker will end up going from 2 weeks to getting off altogether.... ::)

Unbelievable!!!! :-X

Heath Shaw will probably win the rising star award, collingwood get everything there way.

Probably right Checkers and the AFL will be in the clear because they allowed Raines to remain eligible for the award. :P
After all you couldn't have a Tiger win it two years in a row, no matter how deserved. :spin

I think the staff incident shows the confusion at all levels and sub-groups of the AFL, how does one group deliberate for a couple days and finish with the cite as a decision. Then the review group employed by the same powers that be, overturn the decision within 90 seconds....absolutely mind-boggling. No wonder all supporters and players are confused.
