Matt White [Merged]

He's also one of the sides few players who is prepared to lay a tackle and make it stick, he's strong through the hips, so is hard to tackle himself.

As his biggest critic, I think Whitey has been ok, certainly better then a few others and desrves his spot at this point

yep it was to good to last. while he had a dip thought he was poor today the old skill habits never truly go away.

Another good game by Matty. Our only multiple goal kicker too. He's tried his heart out and been very good this season.

He made a couple of mistakes but i think his good far outweighed his bad today

Thought he was one of our best today, given the occasional skill errors probably says more about everyone else's performance.

How many poor skill errors claw? I'm admittedly a bit of a fan of Whitey (so the coloured glasses can distort things) but didn't see a lot wrong today compared to some of his "better" skilled teammates. I saw one coughed up kick but saw plenty from both sides.

Thought he was in our best today. Chased hard and put a lot more pressure on Dogs players than a lot of his team-mates.

Would easily have 6-10 in line for the chop before him.

I thought he was our best. He is underated by many people in the one percenter category. I accept his disposal at times is iffy and his decision making isn't that great under pressure. But he has a dinkum crack, and right now if we had 21 others who would do the same, we might not be 0-3.

There wasnt a lot wrong tigger from my view of the game. Backed up by stats which said 3rd highest disposal efficiency for the Tigers - 86% - and just 2 clangers. 21 possessions, 6 contested, 4 clearances, 3 tackles, topped off with 2 of our 8 goal for the match. A fair display if you ask me.

Thanks GO, I wasn't able to get to the game so had to settle for the goggle box(showing my age) and sometimes you can't quite get a "feel" for how some players are performing.

2 Clangers out of 21 touches.

Certainly a decent effort.

Compare that to

NGB 6 Clangers in 28 touches.
Foley 6 clangers in 29 touches.
Tambling 5 clangers in 12 touches.
Rance 6 clangers in 19 touches.
Jackson 4 clangers in 19 touches.

Good post.

White suffers from the typical richmond running player problem .... when he looks up there is nothing to kick to :'( Then he has to dance and weave and do a houdini to keep posession.

Yep good post. Puts things in perpective.

Has improved his disposal dramatically since his debut.

Funny how both Foley and White are able to improve deficiencies. Why can't others.

Funny how these two are the hardest workers on the track.

They probably do their training and 'extras" away from the coaches and development staff. 8)
