Assuming he gets a senior game, who presents his jumper? Phil Egan played a fair bit of footy with his old man, and has kept in contact with the Riolis. I think Michael Mitchell might have only played with Maurice for a season at Richmond, but may have been connected in other ways. Then there’s Flea.
It’s probably not going to be Geoff Raines.
Flea for sure

Might be a nice touch. I do like the idea of it being an opportunity to connect with past players though. I’m leaning towards Egan.
Someone who played with Maurice, knew him well as a player and now presenting a jumper. Egan is the man. But next season we get to show our past two flags, why not Egan and Daniel (past & Present)?

Give him 18.

He'll have the locker next to Daniel.

It'll look good on the team list in the Footy Record too.
17 - D. Rioli
18 - M. Rioli Jnr
I don’t really care what number he gets but this post made me thing about how he will be listed. I assume it’s just Maurice Rioli not Maurice Rioli Jnr? Did Gary Ablett Jnr always have the Jnr after his name or on his locker?

I don’t have huge expectations on MRJ at this point, however very excited to see him grow

No idea Sin.

Father and son Abletts are just listed as Gary Ablett on a couple of the stats boards I look at.

Should debut at Dreamtime to give him a taste and to honour his remarkable indigenous heritage. The Rainbow Serpent can escort him, Daniel, Shai, Shedda, and Stacky onto the hallowed grass of the G, and the Darwin welcome to country elder can intro them.
Marlion ?

Ablett Jnr didn't wear number 5 like his Dad.
Whilst I kind of like the romance of young MJ wearing 17, I'm not really that fussed what number he wears.
Hopefully puts his own stamp on it whatever it is.

Apart from wearing your dad's number I thought it was forever having your name next to your dad on the locker.

It's 100 games to get the locker which makes sense why Daniel wants to reach 100 before handing it over over.

Can't believe Daniel hasn't played 100. He's done alright.

Graeme Bond a premiership player too.
Bondy, what a great servant for Richmond. Just looked up his bio, he's 71 WOW! Time has flown, we are truly lucky to witness 3 flags in four years. Hopeful of more in the near future.

Daryl Freame a premiership player!
Whenever I see his name I have to rehash my RFC social club story. ...

Week after the 80 GF ... queued up, half cut, after midnight ,waiting to get in and along comes Darryl.... strolls to the front of the line in expectation of a rolled gold entry only to be told to *smile* off and wait ya turn.
He then pulls the ...... "Don't you know who I am.....!"
Unfortunately not.... much mirth amongst those of us who did.

Soon after when Aussie Crawl released Errol and it was on at the social club we'd always sing....
Ohhhhh Darryl .... we would give everything. ... not to be like you!
All these years later I wish to apologize to Darryl.... well sort of. It was bloody funny at the time :)
