PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

For those that have been fortuntate enough to have witnessed Maurice Rioli don the yellow & black would have experienced pure class ooze from 'Mr Magic'. Maurice had nearly made pee in my pants from excitement watching him tear the opposition midfield using his talent and boxing skills to baulk, weave and spin out of tackles.

Nearly 3 decades later his nephew Cyril is running around for Hawthorn and watching him reminds me very much of his uncle. I cannot help help but think this kid Cyril could become a better player than Maurice, who was the first player to win a Norm Smith Medal from a losing side in a Grand Final.

For those that want to see glimpses of Maurice just watch his nephew, just the way he goes about it, the way he baulks, the way he holds the ball and slips through traffic, and his work rate is up there too.
