McGuane will be better than RICHOOOOO/ Forward or Backman? (merged)

I have been accused on the odd occassion of lookin at my glass a little over half full,But I genuinally believe with what improvment I saw this year from Luke that he could have a very good future.

Upsides-Strong hands an very good pack mark
-Defensive side and education has improved heaps
-Plenty of courage not just backing into packs but courage to take his opponent on an go for a run
-Very good for a big fella when the ball hits the ground
- good pace

Downside
- Mass not so much bulk yet but just his actual weight can be pushed of the ball a bit easy at the moment
-Kicking still a bit of a worry but without doubt has got a hell of a lot better
-Hasnt got a contract yet :-X

As for the Sarge I honestly believe from speaking to the fine young man that there is only one issue with him CONFIDENCE and it will be a major fail if the coaching staff cant get the Sarge to believe he is good enough because he damm well has the tools to be a star. The only player who stopped the Sarge from finshing the season of real well was Staf if he wasnt there Sarge would have been able to work in a tadem with Richo, maybe TW is just holding the boy back an waiting to say NOW BOBBY NOW :hihi

richo had won several senior games off his own boot when he was Mcguanes age. Does not mean McGuane is going to be any less of a player - just that McGuane has a hell of a long way to go.

McGuane is hugely talented - does things that alot of AFL players cannot. He needs to do them more regularly. He needs to improve his body strength. He needs to work out how to get more of the ball on the lead etc - not just taking big marks.

AFL is very demanding isn't it. A blokes played 2 games and we are saying he cant play.

The Fact is that the nature of AFL is such that even if he had a blinder in his first game ( anyone remember Marty Mcgrath ? ) he could still be gone tomorrow.

thats pretty good on mcguane cc. the big concern about him as you have rightly pointed out is his kicking and body shape. hes a very good mark with a good leap its what made him stand out as a youngster.

Not having a go at you super, i still have hopes Mcguane can make it as a solid player for us but exactly what type of 'things' can he do that other AFL players can't?

GO TIGES!!!

McGuane's body will fill out. Remember he hurt his shoulder last year which slowed down his development.
