McMahon's Kicking

I've been watching some of Richmond's matches again over the last couple of days, and it struck me that McMahon did not have the best of kicking techniques. Has anyone else observed this? He seems to drop the ball onto his foot more than he guides it. Considering that he is in the side for his kicking, it raises some questions.

It could also explain why he is good when he has time on the ball, but coughs it up under pressure. With time and space the technique is not rushed, but when he is hurried his poor technique gets found out.

True? Maybe true? False?

He is a great outside finisher should play wing , there is no ticker issues here have seen him put his body on the line more than a few times just think that he is not a naturaly defensive player and needs to play up the groung to get the best out of his game for the team and his own selfbelief

Apparently nothing like a Jordan McMahon bagging thread to unite PRE after the diversity of opinion on Ben Cousins. :sleeping

He is a good kick and should play more off the wing moving into the forward lines. Kicked some great goals this year from outside 50m. With Hislop, Tambling, Polo all likely to be pushing off HB i would prefer Jordan to be further up the ground.

And people thought the Cousins thread was boring ::)

I guess we can't all talk about how much we want a new captain for a while.

I was just wondering what people thought of his technique tbh. I'm not bagging him.

I want to know whether Bling will develop as a full time mid.

All I can think of when it comes to McMahon is that last match against freo when the back line was under huge pressure and he kept giving it back to them over and over.

Jordon McMahon is a very valuable contributor to the RFC and if anyone feels they can do a better job you have until Tuesday to ask the Tigers to put youself on the Rookie draft and try and do a better job.

Quite a reasonable question actually. I'll have to have a closer look at his technique next season and check it out.

Yes, he has, I have also seen on numerous occassions dummy attempts at putting his body on the line, that is what infuriates people.
As for playing on the wing.... I don't think so. If he has licence to go all over the ground his opponent will run wild, by playing him down back he has to be accountable. I feel if he moved to the wing he would rack up good numbers but we'd be really hurt through his direct opponent. Just my opinion from this year & how I have viewed his style of play.

sheesh the most ineffective defensive player in the whole afl outside of pettrified. aplayer prone to panic attaks. a player who is supposed to be elite by foot but in reality is ordinary .while spineless girls whose skills go to pieces under the slightest pressure like mcmuffin remain an integral part of our team, we will forever be perennial losers.

We have the two most ineffective defensive players in the league? Go figure.
