Lot of if buts and maybes, but given how harsh Jade was with Lids, I doubt Jade is pumping up McMahon's tyres without a purpose in mind.

You have a lot more faith on this account than me mate.

You can pump up a old tire that has well and truely been road tested and found lacking, on more than one car, as much as you like. It's still going to blow on the road though when put to the true test.

That's Confucius by the way! ;)

Apparently McRae said in his updates that motivating players who they don't think have a long term future or are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is a major issue right now.

If Jade thinks confidence is one of the issues McMahon has, he may be giving him certain jobs to do, and the praise is on the basis of these jobs actually being done. To be fair to McMahon, he has been okay (just okay mind you) since returning, and is doing more of the 1%ers.

If Richmond keep McMahon beyond 2010, then the entire Club from Board on down need to be SHOT.

Big deal with him doing some 1% right now, he will revert back to his old self because that is what he does best.

Look at Jay *smile*, almost 8 YEARS at Richmond FOR WHAT?????

Christ McMahon is another *smile*, its time Richmond got ruthless with poor quality players and GOT RID OF THEM NO IF'S BUT'S OR MAYBE'S ABOUT IT.

the cost of getting rid of him is $300k Massai - if it wasn't for that he would be gone already. With a bill like that however we have to make bloody sure its worth the cost.

personally I'm inclined to keep him, because I would rather spend the $300k elsewhere, and I'm expecting to see Johnson, Bowden, Simmonds, Brown, Polak, Pettifer, JON, Schulz, Hughes, Patto, and possible Cogs gone, so its not like we need his slot on the list desperately.

In a sliding doors type moment, some celebrate McMahon goal after the siren againist a side that was trying to lose and the pick we gave away, 19, Callum Ward gets a Rising Star Nomination at another club and will play finals. ::)

And many on PRE thought the Jordy deal was a winner at this time last year. ;D

Wasn't the mail we would have chosen Selwood anyway? Wasn't a fan of the trade but retrospective selection post the date means nothing. I doubt Callum would have drove us to finals this year.

That is the type of thinking that got us in this mess. It doesn't matter who is taken Selwood/Ward we should not have given away the pick. Ward/Selwood are on there way up to and Jordy is a goner come the end of 2010. Shoot I would be happy paying %50 of his wage at another club for a fourth round pick.

As much as I don’t like Sanchez’s style of football and what he cost us, if Jade does get him playing vaguely accountable football I am resigned that he will be a Tiger next year.

Maybe a night in shining armour will come along and offer us a pick for him, but I doubt it.

Yep - to a certain degree, all players should be assessed separately for 'Pre-Rawlings' as well as 'Post-Wallace'

I personally thought McMahon took the mark at the same time as the siren went. The only reason he's being played in preference to others is that he's got a contract and the club seem to have accepted that he'll be there next season so they may as well get what they can out of him. Joel, unfortunately doesn't have that luxury and the back line has to get used to playing without him. I'm not missing his weekly brain fades and the negative play he generally implemented in defence whenever the team got put under the gun or managed to get a lead that he felt had to be protected.

No it's just a matter of still not crying over milk spilt almost two years ago. Everyone knows it was a blunder, not sure how bringing it up every second week adds anything.
