Yeah, a media ban on our coach - what an ingenius plan. Not! The suggestion of a complete nimrod.

I thought you were taking a break from PRE Hop. Short break.

Nimrod?..... Is that the local slang up in Darwin these days..... as you would say hopper "Noice".

Just dont know how you could truly comment on what the goings on down here in Melbourne are, all the way from up there, surely telling our coach to stay out of the media and focus on the job at hand is a warranted opinion? Especcially since he's been making a complete ass of himself lately.

Oh well, it's just my opinion.

Nimrod signing out!
I dunno where to start, tb. I just think it's a very silly suggestion. Sure, TWs performance in the media the last week or so hasn't been at its best. But i think it'd be a very silly thing to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Speaking of babies - i'll try to refrain from the namecalling from now on and be a good little boy!

I know, i know jbo3. I should know better. SHould have known I couldn't go cold turkey. Should also have known better than to read a thread like this. It ain't good for the blood pressure!

Don't be too disconsulate TB:

Nimrod, decribed in Gen. x. 9 as a "mighty hunter before the Lord". or "anyone expert in or devoted to hunting".

Could be worse though, perhaps Hopper didn't move far enough in the dictionary cos ironically the next word was nincompoop, which gave me a chuckle for no apparent reason.

Yes a silly comment better kept to himself but we are going over board here with this media ban talk.

I heard him saying he is not doing open media talks from now on.

What exactly are they?

I'm not calling for a complete media ban.
But would like him to take a step back and let some other member of the coaching staff have a turn.
King is up and coming let him face the media once a week.

The worry with the above is that I understood it all, never faltered on one word.

Must come from being an avid reader of Hswary's posts! :hihi

Nothing surprises me. Happy 1600th t80.

Most coaches spin doctor...haven't heard too many coaches say how s**t their side is after a poor performance, especially this early in the year. In all reality, what coach ever has anything enlightening to say? They all tow the club line, speak absolute rubbish and give nothing worthwhile. I don't even bother reading/listening to what they have to say. Those supporters who hang on the words uttered by the moutpiece of the club ought to take a good hard look at themselves. I will let performances on gameday show me how we are going, not some spin-doctor, and so far my eyes are telling me we have quite a way to go (but it could change).

Before we hired him as coach, this was my take on Plough.

How can you tell Terry Wallace is lying?

His lips are moving.

tell me a coach that isn't like that? neil craig might be the closest.

Really couldn't care, most of his media is good. However I reserve the right to change my mind if he says we are cherry ripe.

I have to admitt at first i liked the idea of Tuesday's with Terry & how it got our club in the limelight, but now i pretty much know it will be a bit of dribble re what the hot topic for the week has been,or some spin re a new initative at our club!

Some one told me what he said and i knew you guys would not be very happy with that comment i know i would not be after what 2 or 3 yrs as coach

I think his comments the past two weeks have been more damaging then good.

I have softened my approach, I do beleive Terry has to do media work to promote our club, because he does that well, but he needs to start promoting our club and not himself.

The best way to do this is by staying out of the media for a couple of weeks, then when he gets back in after a couple of wins, he shows some positive appraisals to our club and players through the media.

I don’t have a problem with him doing media work. Part of why we employed him was to represent us a bit better in this area and for us to have greater visibility i.e. sponsorship, revenue opportunities.

Maybe he can ease back a tad on it, and definitely he can cut back on the amount of spin doctoring, but otherwise, its part of his role profile with us.
Agree

Give me a *smile* break mb64. Hypocrisy at its finest.

You've been on the front foot all week spouting this BS about TW's spin doctoring being a massive issue.
Don't be such a soft *smile* and have it both ways.
You are either behind our coach or you are against him but this whiteanting *smile* from supposed Richmond supporters is really beginning to *smile* me right off.
