Meet our new Forward: Tuck

Play Tucky as a mobile CHF and maybe give JON a go at being lead up FF. If they are going to leave Sarge in put him in a FP with Browny in the other pocket. Keep Richo up on a wing.

Post Carlton & Geelong games you were playing God Saved the Queen, asking everyone to take a chill pill.
With that set-up above, you sound like you've swallowed the entire container.

We are over-represented in the middle.

We have Cousins, Coughlan and Cotchin waiting to come back.

We have a hole in the forward line.

My left-field answer: Tuck to full forward.

Tuck takes a strong mark and leaps high -- even taking ruck duties on occasion -- and, unlike most players, is a dead-eye *smile* in front of goals while being a little iffy in general play with his kicking.

He'll be fantastic applying pressure in the forward line and is even a decent pack mark.

He won't do worse than Sarge at the moment, and I reckon he's a much surer bet as an effective forward than Patto ever will be.

Me say: Tuck to full forward.

Actually i have mixed emotions about this idea, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Tucky has been moved to full forward during games a couple of times over the last two years and went OK - lead well marked strongly and kicked straight. Problem was we lost some grunt in and under in the middle and he was soon moved back to the guts.

If we could get another hard nut in and under I would certainly be in favour of resting Tucky up forward instead of on the bench.......RT

I like Tucys grunt in the middle . He's one of very few Tiges to get into a pack and risk injury.
Play Sarge at FF with Tambling and Brownie ( there is an I in team ) roving to Sarge's attempted speccies.

You haven't seen the last 3 weeks?

Saw the Carlton game whic I've deleted from memory and the doggies game.
Sarge just isn't being played in a position. He looks like he doesn't know what he's doing>
Tambling I'll excuse for last week and Brownie I'd like to see in a Coburg jumper but he can kick a goal and we only have little boy Edwards and his brother Nahas as small crummy forwards .
They are too small for AFL

I think it's a good call I have always said we should use him more forward he takes a good mark applies pressure is a tough hard footballer & kicks well for goal. I don't think he should be a permenent forward but instead of sitting him on the bench send him to the square I think he would out body most players of the same size!!

Agree with Inpsector re Tucky as a pinch it forward and also agree with Tubytiger.......gikve JON a chance as a hit up full forward.

Have only seen the guy once but he looks tall enough, seems to work hard and show good endevour so if his skills and footy smarts are improving why not give him a try. Maybe the new Buddy Franklin ;) ;)

I've never given it a thought before - playing Tuck as FF........ But I like it ! He is a biggish midfielder (Matthews kicked a bucketload of goals as FF & was a rover). Not bad overhead & is a good kick for goal. I also like the way he attempts to keep his arms free in a tackle - edwards or nahas could benefit from this as the small forward. Eventually young Jack R should take over & while I like the kid a lot - his second efforts when we are not in possession are pretty ordinary. Tuck has a crack. My main question would be Tucky's ability to lead at the right time as this would be something pretty new to him.

Hughes is proving to be a massive disappointment. He was playing for Coburg reserves last week & did Jacksh-t from what I understand while Gourdis & Putt dominated. Hughes can get a game for the RFC when he starts to look unstoppable at VFL level. Making up the numbers in the reserves doesn't cut the mustard & certainly does not justify a callup.

Edwards is clearly a small forward for mine. I assume the playing back is part of his education. Not sure he has learnt a lot from it though.
