Message for Gary March and the board

As for Lids, took him 40 minutes to get a possesion the other nite, and then you look at Mitch Robinson playing his first game for the blues,
As for youth,Hawthorn still has the youngest list , and accordingly to the king of spin when he took the job as coach, he said our list was better placed.
Terry should be shown the door after next weeks slaughter, enough is enough really

Agree, enough is enough. Round 1 2007, 2008 Centenary Match, 2008 vs Adelaide with the finals on the line, Round 1 2009 to name a few - how many times do we have to fail to deliver when it counts?

Deledio is in his 5th season and is probably our most gifted player at present - but he doesn't do enough for someone of his ilk in the heat of battle. He goes missing far too often when the game is on the line. In his 5th year he should be one of the players who stands up when things don't go our way.

If March doesn't already have the line through Wallace's name we are in big trouble.

Mitch Robinson should do Rexona's Greatest Athlete next summer while Deledio learns how to hit targets by foot

Excuses. He's been there long enough to have some effect on them. If not the skills then at least their mental side.

Baloo that is it in a nutshell. I don't know whose at fault, but one thing that stood out to me after the game and watching a replay (sadist I know) was our mental frailty. We started off well and should have been 2 goals to zip early. We dominated for 10-15 minutes then when Simmo dropped that Mark followed by another turn over that cost us a goal, we wilted quicker than a daffadil in ths desert. Our loss last night was a serious case of mental softness. That zapped our confidence, when that went our skills, desire and ability to react all disappeared.

The amount of times I saw our players not knowing what to do, was horrible. It was so obvious sitting in the stands what Carlton would do, but our players just didn't react or see it coming. Scared to commit to a contest was what it amounted too. It was comical watching some of our plays. Yet the couple of times we actually moved the ball quickly and directly we looked so much better.

Carlton intimidated us with physical pressure and we had no one, not one player, who stood up...

Those stupid 20 metre kicks and little handballs in defence. When are we going to work out they kill us. A couple of times I saw short kicks and by the time the reciever marked it and went back and turned he was actually behind where the kicker had kicked it from.

It's all to do with our lack of skills and I have had a gut full of us having poor skills for the last 4+ years. Isn't this why TW brought Brian Royal to club for?? He was going to be the great teacher of skills. I can't see what he has done or anyone else on the coaching staff for that matter. Either we are recruiting kids who have no skills and can't be taught, or we are playing the wrong players. OR we have the wrong assistant coaches. Make some BIG decisions Gary!!!

You should have done a Helen D'Amico after all gus, just to put the Blues off their game. ;D

Mate I thought about it but was too embarrassed to show the Tiger thats Tattooed on my back..... ;D

Besides it would have only given Terry an excuse.....

claw and harry you are both spot on.
Claw you have tried to tell everyone what was likely to happen
and its on record I agreed with you, no need to repeat it.
Basically the side remains lower half of the ladder strenghth,no
improvement in Wallace's time.<despite great draft opportunities>.
Note 2 things
1 when Wallace was appointed the media articles read'wallace has been
given 4 years hard labour and will get out of the 5th early"
People outside Richmond could see it unlikely he would suceed.he had no successfull previous experience.
2 North sacked Schimma after a preseason loss! I dont recall what followed that season, some one fill me in,but the sky did not fall in for North.
Note also,we played poorly in the two preseason games.

Appoint Sheedy asap as a temporary coach, play youngsters if possible,as many teams have this weekend with good sucess.
Appoint outsider to coach, a hard nut, and refuse to draft or keep mediocre players.
It is not so hard.
Hawks did it in 3 years from a list as bad as ours.
Go to the bottom and start afresh.
Even if we improve on this w/e and we will with time,we will not be good enough.
Accept this now and move on.
Interested to hear your response claw.

My own post claw, see you are not online,so hope to get a comment from you.

Trouble with the youth/tanking /drafting logic PT Cruiser is that the boat has already pulled away from the wharf regarding future drafts.
With Demetriou allowing GC 17 and the Western Suburbs into the Comp we will not get a look in for young talent in future years.
We will have to trade with GC 17 and who will they ask for ? Certainly not the Schulz's of this world.

The failure to be ruthless before now catches up with RFC again, not with Wallace, he'll be gorn and back in the media again.

Don't waste any more time.

Over 4 years to shape and mould a side that gets thumped and lets it's supporters down continuosly.

Get rid of him this week and lets start the process yet again.

Tiger supporters have little to look forward to this year, there may be a glimmer of hope with a new coach and new direction.

It's quite clear Wallace does not have the playing groups support.

Do it, and do it NOW!
Think he should stay and finish his contract. And that planning for his replacement should commence.

Totally agree. There's nothing to be gained by sticking with a failed coach. We stuck with Frawley and where did it get us? Let's not make the same mistake again.

The clock is ticking. Give a new man with a new support team a chance to show what they can do. If they don't work out appoint a new permanent coach at the end of the season. At least it's a chance to test the waters with someone else. It's not rocket science.

Wallace appears to be a dead man walking. He's aware that he's lucky to have lasted this long. Why don't March and Co realise this? What's to be gained by hanging onto a lame duck? For once let's not draw this thing out until round 11 or 12. REPLACE WALLACE NOW and the club can then move on.

In a surprise move after 4 rounds, Richmond today announced it was beginning the process of head coach recruitment. This comes after shocking losses to Carlton and Geelong, a strong effort resulting in a loss to the Bulldogs, and a scrappy win against a resurgent Melbourne.

Gary March stated that current coach Terry Wallace had been fully consulted on the move, and had been invited to apply. He emphasised that the 5 year cycle overseen by Wallace was coming to an end, and that the club was keen to get on the front foot for the future, particular with a number of coaches coming out of contract at the end of this year.

When asked if this decision, that pre-empted a rolling over of Wallace’s contract, was premature given that the Wallace-coached team had yet to fail to make the 8, March replied that the decision related to the post-2009 period, although Wallace’s achievements during his 4 plus year tenure would provide valuable background to his application. March emphasised that ladder position in 2009 was not the only measure of Wallace’s success. Factors such as player development were also part of the kpi for the period ending in 2009.

Applicants for the 2010 onwards position would be asked to provide for a vision for the next coaching cycle, and Wallace would be given the same opportunity to do this as the other applicants. Wallace could use his achievements to date at the club to project his ideas into the future, including his performance in developing new blood. March also stressed that the recruitment process was likely to be a lengthy one, and Wallace would have ample opportunity to demonstrate his vision for the future on the field during the process.

I hope.

We need no more proof.

Get Hardwick now and lets get rid of the anchors holding us back.

19 games left, let's not waste any more bloody time!

Agree.

I hate bashing the coach but he has lost the players imo.

Wake up March and make the tough calls.

P.S: No W Campbell as senior coach either!

You've had time to go sharpen the axe Gary.

It's time to go use it, the fat lady is singing.
