Meyer or Krak

Bobby my man I like this kid ,at this stage he reminds me of a poor mans Kerr, the thing for me is he runs his guts out an his not just an old workhorse like a few of the boys ,he has class an has a freaky sense of whats happening in a pack so he dosent get crunched, foot skills are coming on a treat,I can just see with his motor him been able to have an impact in a 75% game time an in a better way then the old workhorse's

Why drop our one and only player in the fwd line who is capable of keeping the ball inside our 50.

Since when was a player at a really good club selected for being quite good at tackles,1%s and trapping the ball inside 50m?

Oh that's right..only at Richmond! :P

If he'd actually touch the football and kick some goals I'd be a lot happier. :spin

Don't be too harsh on him for the Swans game Tooheys. The Richmond stats overall were the lowest stats I've ever seen for a whole team Clearly Sydney played their typical stoppage heavy style and controlled a lot of the possession, and as usual they weren't in a hurry to hand the ball back once they had it.

Id have to agree with you ToO, as much as krak does keep it in and puts the pressure on he does however have to kick goals to justify the position he plays in.

"Gimme That Thing"

Eventually someone has to grab the ball and kick a goal.

As I said in another post Disco, if low stats were an aberration on Krak's behalf I would agree with you.

how was hartigan at coburg with his forward line pressure??

if he can provide that id put him in. he'll get the ball a lot more than krak...

Hartigan didn't do so well yesterday. Sprayed his kicking a bit. Think he kicked a behind for the day from a set shot. Don't remember him kicking a goal.

Hartigan kicked 2 goals General...

Harts is gone.
If he is not getting a game ahead of some players in our side he should be looking for a new job come the end of the year.

Seriously this thread is a joke if players are going to be promoted as inclusions in the absence of their form with Coburg. Read TOT70's review of the game against the Bullants and then reread your posts about your preferred inclusions. If Meyer can't find the football with a compass and three days worth of food, and Hartigan still can't hit a Barn Door while both are playing at the lower pace and standard of the Burgers - how in the nine hells are they possibly going to assist the seniors?

Here is a forecast you can count on. If our reserve players can't impress Andy Collins then the only way they will go up is if they are chasing an abulance full of our senior players. Does anyone else here think that just maybe TW and AC get together over a cup of coffee to discuss our reserve players in detail. If AC saw the same game that other PREnders saw then I suspect promotions will only occur due to injury, discipline, desperation or confirmation. (Jake King being the only exception to date).

Fair call. But there's another problem at RFC as well. That's the continual non performance by senior players such as Krakouer (and many others) who never ever get dropped; no matter how many crap games in a row they play.

I respect what your saying, and agree in some respects.

Where it can differ is some players do perform better up a level so to speak. They prefer the bigger crowds, the better skill level and the space they have available to them.

I do beleive one of these players is Danny Meyer and the other JON. I am not saying they should play this weekend but I just feel they will perform better up a level than at a VFL ground with unskilled hacks.

I am a strong adovocate of merit based selection with virtually no exception. But.......young Meyer is an exception I would consider. He looks to me like a flashy half forward flanker that can do classy things in good company but will struggle to shine in a b grade competition. Unfortunately I think the only way we will ever know if the kid can play is to play him in the seniors. I would give him half a dozen games later in the year regardless of form and if he doesn't impress trade him back to SA.
