Tigers of Old said:& premiership player.
Good point too daisy about his conversion.
He could certainly be relied upon to manufacture a goal when it was required and most importantly nail them under pressure.
Still for all that I don't think he's in elite territory and probably just a step below being a great.
No doubting his skill but as a comparison to say Daicos, someone who O'Loughlin may be compared to as being the benchmark for a permanent non=kpp forward who also had a stint on the ball:
250 game and 549 goals, 78% conversion, ave 18.3 disposals a game, 2.2 goals a game ave, b&f 82 and 88, leading goalkicker 81, 82, 90, 91 and 92, premiership player, Collingwood TOTC, All Australian 82, 88 and 90, Victorian rep 5 times and Greek team of the century! Add to that the "impossible to equate" number of games Daicos would have won for Collingwood off his own boot.
Mickey O: 293 games, 505 goals at an ave of 1.7 a game, 65% conversion, b&f 98, AA 97 and 2000, leading goalkicker 2000, 01.
As mentioned, O'Loughlin: good/very good but not a great. Could have been better.
