As loathe as I am to say it but I think that Campbo has done a dreadful job as our midfiled coach. We have the most static midfield in the comp. Apart from Cuz, whose habits have been well formed before he got here, our ability to read play, make space, spread, block, quickly assume defensive roles or even perform anything like a well drilled series of set plays is non-existent.

Unfortunately I think that Campbo should go.

Agreed. If it was me, I'd get rid of every current coach we have and bring in a new set with the new coach. Rawlings has to go as well.

We need a fresh start.

Could not agree any more with that. Rawlings and Campbell should be first out the door when the new coach arrives.

Looked ordinary today. Having players like Cotchin & Foley missing doesn't help.
The Coughlan & Tuck inclusion didn't give Campbell many options.
Deledio, Cotchin, Tambling, Foley, Edwards & Jackson all must appear in the midfield plans for 2010 - If they cant play midfield, no point hiding them on a flank or in a pocket.

The time has come for Tambling to start playing as a midfielder.

werent we one of the highest hard ball gets/clearances midfields last year?? since campbell has arrived we have started to play like he used to.....dont even know why they got him back to the club in the first place ???

They can also throw in Hitman Hislop in the middle to rattle the opposition's brain, it'll give us an indication on how much he is switched on.

the day campbell walked through the doors, the bitchy and the back stabbing started. the guy should be booted out as soon as new coach starts.

i've heard his OK with text messages to current players offering encouragement.

Considering how our midfield has gone backwards, also the rumours about him with bad player relationships and such, I say.... get rid of him along with everyone else ASAP. Seriously, hope he goes. He's contracted to 2010, FFS! Can the new coach get rid of him?

Happy to keep Rawlings as coach of Coburg, but the Campbell, Royal & King need to go. McCrae may be lucky but even he's not exactly setting the world on fire since taking over Coburg.

ppffttt jackson is one of the worst players at the club he just has to go next yr. still believe tambling should play almost exclusively of hb. edwards well im not sold. if hes to play though it should be on a wing.

what is desperately needed is a big bodied inside and out player whith hurt factor. no more dumb, slow, sloppy kicks getting a game because they can play inside and they have a big body time to get it right and find well rounded players.

Koby Stevens?

Would prolly need a pick between 7-12 to be a chance though

How can we get rid of Campbo and some of the other asssistants when weve decided to extend their contracts. Imagine being a new coach and having to deal with this lot :pullhair :brickwall

Agree. We've gone backwards since he took over. Hopefully the new coach will make some changes

It all comes back to the players. Not good enough.

Thomson: What a trade that was. Can't even crack it for a senior game.

Deledio: Has admitted to being slack. Not as good a season as last year and as yet still unsigned. Still a standout despite all this.

Foley: Injuries have limitted his effectiveness. Questionable disposal but can't question his endeavor.

Cousins: Been a very good cheap pickup but has ongoing hamstring problems and is aging. Is struggling now that heavy tags are applied.

Tuck: Tough but cannot hit the side of a barn door and doesn't follow instruction.

Coughlan: Slow and poor disposal (see Tuck). Finished sadly.

Jackson: Had a good start to the year but has fallen away again dramatically over the past month tot he Jacko of old. Poor disposal.

Cotchin: Classy but still a kid. Has had development curbed by injury. Not sure yet of long term midfield capabilities.

Hislop: Added as an inside mid but plays forward(not very well). Fleming mk2 but maybe not as good.

Connors: Can't get a game, No tank to play midfield. Jury out on him but will get another year.

Edwards: Great hands and evassiveness but kick and decision making poor at times. Also too light to play midfield yet.

Collins: No wonder the coaching candidates have foccussed on this bright spark. Heaps of potential.

Tambling: Has done his best work around the flanks. Unproven in on ball role.

Johnson: Retired.

It's not great reading. You can blame Campbell if you like but the cattle is pretty poor.

not a bad summary. but claw is going to buck the trend here and give hislop another 12 months grace. 3 things have him in the gun . kicking pace and motor.
dont think theres to much wrong with his kicking action some that can be worked on. motor is another thing that will improve in time. pace well hes no ben johnson thats for sure but draft times suggest hes no slouch. there are programmes that can improve the explosiveness if you like of players. no ill not make a call on this bloke until some work has been put into him in these areas. the clock is ticking though that much i will grant.
