Last few weeks cant complain in terms of our style of play. At least we are starting to kick higher scores, skills are improving ect. however it is just plainly obvious our midfield lacks depth badly.

ATM its foley vs the rest. When it counted last night our midfieled was smashed. Sorry to say but time is up for Kane Johnson as an on-baller, simply past it. Coughlan is desperatley missed but even so we have few options through the middle. As the game goes on we get worn down.

This issue needs to be addressed at the draft table. In time Edwards will probably move to an on-ball role, but the real midfield improvment does not look like coming from the current crop. Deledio just cannot get the ball when he gets tagged, neither he or Tambling is the answer to our centre square woes. Raines will never be an on-baller just does not have the awareness. Hopefully Conners turns out alright, and you would think Casserley at some stage would replace Tivendale.

Also one who we may be forgetting is Polo. Forget about this year hes had shoulder so its a write off but his debut year was excellent and I see him as part of a solution to our midfield woes

I agree mate.

What killed us a lot last night was that we left so many of their players open and free in the middle of the ground when we turned it over in our forward line.

While I admire Cogs as a player, he isn't a penetrating kick (and who knows how it will be after a couple of knee recos? :-\).....and I think when he comes back, then he'll be purely a type of player who will shovel handpasses out of the middle, and hopefully, to running players such as Lids, Bling, Edwards.

A couple of players you didn't mention were Tuck and King.

I think Kingy will eventually move into the middle, not this season...and maybe not even next season....but eventually I think he could.
He seems rather cool under pressure.

Tuck is a bit of a worry....but I think we'll have to keep him next season, as Kane Johnson won't get any better, and we don't know how influential Cogs will be.
