I heard thah Sheahan put out his top 100 players for halfway thru the year. Can someone please enilghten me with who from tigerland made it and what # they were??? Im waiting to see if Foley made it in and Richo.

Sheahan makes so many top 50, 100s its not even funny!
But for a 100 at half way the 3 tigers who would most likley get in would be Foley (around 40-60) Richo (60-80) and Polak (80-100)

I don't think that this list was Mike Sheahan's top 100, but the top 100 ranked players in the AFL according to Champion Data.

From memory, Joel Bowden, Foley, Deledio, Polak & Tivendale each appeared.  Bowden was approximatrely 9th, Foley and Polak scraped into the top 50.  Tivendale was in the 70s and Deledio in the 80s.

Newman, Tuck and Richo each just missed out.

And just for Turbo, Lids was about 5 spots above Buddy.

Interesting how well Joel is ranked, as he is every year. It always amazes me that whenever some know nothing media type wants to criticize all Australian selection the player criticized is Joel.

Joel is the best attacking CHB in the league and is credible defensive stopper. He is three times the player than Dustin Fletcher, If he played for a better team he would be have the reputation as one of the top players in the AFL.

:headscratch.................I don't get it.

Sorry GPB, isn't our old mate TT saying how much better Franklin is than Deledio. Buddy may have had two spectacular games this this season, but our boy is consistently getting the job done most weeks.

Would you like to take a look at your statement again, pokey?

Tig, I checked Sheahan's columns in the HUN and there is no mention of a top 100.

He did issue something at the start of the year but I think it was more in the form of predictions.

It may not have been Sheahan's article, but there was a top 100 in the Herald Sun this week based on Champion Data.

My original statement was:

Do I need to look at it again? Was I too vague?

You are right about Fletcher. Media raves on about him as a great full back/ defender. You need an opponent to be a defender, he hasn't had one for about 3 years. Fletcher plays solely as a loose man in the back half. Bowden gets as many touches & takes an opponent.

I read the above that you were contradicting yourself. Methinks I got it wrong.

I blame the quality of the rotgut that is now marketed as Fourpenny Dark. I gotta go on the wagon! :-[

No dramas mate. We got there in the end. So long as we both agree that Lids is better than Buddy, we're all sweet over here. :fing32
