At various stages during a season players reach milestone games or goals. And the team will set record winning margins or streaks or new accuracy (or inaccuracy) benchmarks.

Such stats are mentioned in game day threads or in individual player pages but then get swamped. I for one like the stats part of footy and maybe a dedicated thread can highlight these ocassions.

If something similar exists already point me to it please.

Whilst not imminent, other than another flag, the most monumental event this year could well be Jack Rs 300th game....17 to go.

Only 4th Tiger to reach those lofty heights (with over 90 all time we are strangely under represented in 300 Club)

2 of the other 3 are VFL team of century...sort of best 22 players in 100 years. KB the other AFL Legend to boot.
(Emphasises the company Jack is in and how he should be viewed as a player.)

Barring an extended run with injury JR8 will be third all time by seasons end and if he goes on to 2022 will pass Capt Blood to be 2nd.

Richmond's under-representation of three players in the 300-club is an interesting one.
It's tempting to put it down to the fact that the majority of our success has been concentrated into small eras, and prior to that, not enough football was played - only Gordon Coventry reached 300 games before WW2.
But the Bulldogs (two flags) have six, St Kilda (one flag) five, and North (four flags) five.
Even Adelaide have four from two flags and only 30 years of existence.

We’ve been waiting for a long time that get another member of the 300 club. Thought both Cambo and Richo might get there, but it was not to be.

Edwards needs one draw to equal the record of 7, held by three players.
Lynch needs one goal for 350 career, and five for 100 at Richmond.
Castagna needs two goals for 100 career.
Castagna leads the club for consecutive games with 45.
Grimes has gone 88 games without kicking a goal.
Prestia, Lynch and Naish are our only three players below 50% career wins.
Will be Garthwaite's 50th game out of the senior team since debut.
Lynch needs two votes from the coaches for 250 career.
Monday was Noah Cumberland's birthday (20yo).

Very close to 2 more in the 300 club with Campbell (297) and Titus (294)
Knighter 279 n Cho man 282 got within a season n thought that Lids was a monty to make it the way he waltzed to 200 then it all started to go pear shaped. That last haul from 250 to 300 seems a mighty long road for most players.

Some merit in that, but many of the 300 club had only moderate team success, certainly not the sustained success that might be considered as motivation to Keep going. Maybe the opposite is the driver, no early team success but if good enough keep playing in hope a flag comes in twilight years.?
No doubt these days the money plus better training and medical keeps the 300 club growing.
The rapid increase of season length from 18"to 22 in early seventies meant someone with a 15 year career played 50-60 more games than a generation before.

From current crop Jack, Sheds, Dusty and Vlas, I would back. Cotch.... 49 left, would have to play well into a third season..... Still he is only a year older than Dusty.

It's tempting to point out that playing Cartoon every year in round 1 helps.
But the last team to beat us in round 1 is Gold Coast !
