What an absolute dud is Greg Miller!!!
When is this goose going to realise that drafting so called ready made
players, is a recipe for disaster!!!
We have given up pick 8 and didnt I here Terry Frawley once say, we wont be trading picks under
any circumstances!
Why cant those fools follow the Hawthorn model instead of recruting band aid solutions like Johnston, Brown
and now Polak.
Going nowhere that rabble of a club with that yesterdays man running the show!!!
Anyone claiming certainty as to whether the recent trade deals RFC have made are master *smile*-ups or master strokes is a fool - but that goes without saying, when you are dealing with the perennial whingers with the glass-is-broken-and-only-I-know-how-to-fix-it mentality.
Let's face facts:
1. We've picked up a big-bodied, blooded player who is in his early 20s, has plenty of time to improve, who, from many reports, may well benefit from being away from some negative influences in his life in Perth, and has the time to become a 10-year RFC player.
2. We've traded down five spots in the first round of a coming draft where there are a number of quality players who could be selected anywhere from picks 5 to 15.
3. As noted by a number of other posters on this site, the drop in the first-round order may make no difference to who we draft if Miller and co have been able to identify that their preferred selection will be available at pcik 13 due to the needs of other clubs. If not, then I'm confident we will be able to pick up a quality youngster when our turn comes.
I can't say for sure whether things will work out as well as they may have if Richmond had not made the decisions it did, but there are positives in the deal, whereas the negatives are all hypothetical (noboday can say for sure what may have happened, we can only wait to see what the future holds).
Let's not rush to judgement this early on - as all too few have pointed out, we won't really be able to judge the quality of the Polak deal until a couple of years' time.
