Millers Reputation.

FFS i cant believe some people on this site - talk about doing back flips

i keep reading people here winge about our lack of KPP, we dont have any, we have midgets.... etc etc

the one true KPP on offer that can play both ends of the ground (not sure how well yet but thats TWs job) and miller gets him - thats a fact (how much we paid will only know in time) but sometimes you need to take a risk

we are told that this draft is a deep 1 and after pick 5 there is not much differeance from 6 - 15 so pick 13 gets us a good player

clearly TW wanted a big bodied KPP with some versatility (and still young) a previous #4 pick and we got one - Polak - whether he plays CHF or CHB thats up to TW and how schulz goes but he gives us options

we can now use pick 13 on a mid which is what we also need

clearly TW thought that Polak was a better option than drafting the best available KPP at 8, he asked Miller to get him Polak and Miller delivered - fact

once again ill back TW & GM,s judgement more than  anyone else on this forum

from memory miller chased notting and solomon and they have turned out to be poor players in the last couple of seasons. so his judgement doesn't inspire me with confidence. just because polak has a big body doesn't make him a kpp.
(remmember aaron james)

we are not that close to our crack at a flag to gamble on a fringe kpp. this may have cost us a chance at a good kpp.

The messages these trades send out are interesting. Collingwood is clearly in rebuild mode. Fremantle is going for broke. We’re hedging our bets. If our cards fall right we could well be very competitive in the next two years. The bulk of the team will be young with a fair degree of experience and with a good bit more meat on them. Browny and Joel should still be productive, Richo and Kane maybe not so much. I think it’s the right approach. A balance of good drafting and good trading will get it done. But it’s always a gamble – whatever approach you take.

To me Freo have taken the big plunge. I would hate for us to have effectively given up a first rounder, Polak and Medhurst for Chris Tarrant. Now that is poor dealing.

Yes good post TitN.

IN a way, I'd prefer we make a decision either way. And we could hardly go for broke coming from our base.

I swear that I've read this (valid) point of view a hundred times since Polak was traded. It might be time for the good folk here to agree to disagree, or agree to let time run it's course.

It's called flogging a dead horse. Something some members seem to excell at. (Not referring to Tango in this instance) :hihi
