Richmond has recalled the forgotten Andrew Mills for Sunday’s MCG clash against Hawthorn.

Mills has spent the entire 2003 season in the VFL and has played just 13 AFL matches since his debut in 2000.

The Tigers also recalled Rory Hilton and promoted promising youngster Jay Schulz as they bid to win only their second game since round eight.

That trio replace the injured Ben Holland as well as veteran Matthew Rogers and former Hawk Bill Nicholls, who were both omitted.

Hawthorn welcomed back star duo Ben Dixon and Jonathan Hay from injury.

That pair replaced Brett Johnson and Adrian Cox, who were both omitted.

Dixon was named on the Hawks’ finalised interchange bench along with Nick Holland, Nathan Lonie and Steven Greene.

So can we infer from this that MILLS and HILTON may still be part of SPUDS future master plan

Why else would you include them in the last game ahead of someone like McGRATH who we know has ability and a future at the club.

What in the hell are they picking Rory for?

Here is someone that can be yelled at as someone asked in another forum.

Yes CB Pettifer was shown on the tv training.

Got no idea why you would bring in Mills who's odds on to be delisted ahead of McGrath. Are we giving Mills a farewell game ???

Surely being dropped again will be the final hint for Matty Rogers to follow in Leon's honest steps and retire. He's given the Club good service but the last couple of years have shown the game has passed him by.

I think the selection process is being performed by picking names from a hat...................is there any point of picking Mills, is he going to be on the list next year?............I would have thought not.

What's happening with Dragga? Why name Rogers last week? Have Hyde and Houlihan cemented their spot on the list for next year? Will Nichols be on the list next year?

There is no indication at all as to who will be delisted..............it appears they will be pulling names out of a hat for this aswell.

Iwould doubt they are just picking names from a hat, it's probably a case of one last look one last chance to do something to impress the coaches that a player is worth another year.I can't see them dumping 12/14 players in one season especially when the draft is so thin!! They may plan on keeping the best of the worst ( geez cant believe I said that) till next year and maybe hope for a better draft then.

How can young players gain experience if they don't get game time?
Am I missing something about McGrath, is he not up to it or has he B.O. or something?
Or has the Great Pontiac his favourites and the rest don't get a look in?
I can't understand why guys like McGrath, Shulz and others don't get picked more often, especially when it was obvious our season was over long ago as far as the finals were concerned, so wasn't that a time to really start blooding our youngsters? Or is that why DF's a coach and I'm not?

If the football department was remotely competant they would have drawn a line through all players after about round 14 and only be assessing players based on their performances up to that round, disregarding everything afterwards.

There are many players on our list who have failed time and again and certainly don't deserve another chance.

McGrath was the only listed player who wasnt at training today, does anyone know why?

I notcied that too DF, but i dont know why he wasnt there. Cant understand why Mills is in the team, but as long as pettifer isnt playing im happy ;D

Id rather see Fiora playing on the HFF then the back line.

I agree Roar34

Spud for one reason or another refuses to draft many young kids. He's looking for the short term fix.

The young kids that he does draft don't get any oppurtunity. Ben Haynes played 5 games with us in 2 seasons and is now playing good footy with the bombers.

I think you are being exceptionally kind Roar34 in referring to Frawley as a coach. I'd say he wasn't a coaches %$#@hole.

Talking of Haynes (yet another great RFC decision!) what a beautiful goal he kicked last night for the bummers. Jeez, if only...

Am concerned about McGrath. That is the second time I've been to training and he hasn't been there. All the players made an appearance to farewell Cameron off the field. Even Wayne limped out very slowly, but no McGrath.
