Re: MLB 2006
Costs US79 for the year and is generally pretty good if you have a good connection. I can still only view it in a smallish window, but that's no big deal, you can see clearly enough.
Red, luckily the game at the toilet was washed out or I'd have almost certainly smashed the TV when quadbike racing come on in place of the advertised baseball. ;D
The Sox got Papelbon's brother Josh in the draft this morning with pick 1500 or something like that after the Cubs got his other brother (they're twins) Jeremy in the 18th round.
Here's a cool piece about sandwich pick Kris Johnson:
"Boston selected Johnson with the 40th pick in Tuesday's draft, taking him in the compensatory part of the first round, known as a sandwich pick. He said he will sign a contract today, and expects to report to Class-A Lowell (Mass.) within two weeks.
Terms of the contract have not been decided. The average signing bonus for the 40th player picked in 2003 and 2004 was $832,500, according to Baseball America. Last year's 40th pick was Tennessee pitcher Luke Hochevar, who did not signed and was picked No. 1 overall by Kansas City after re-entering the draft."
"Hopefully, maybe someday I'll get to Fenway (Park) and pitch against that evil empire of the baseball world known as the Yankees," he said Tuesday outside Eck Stadium. "I've never really liked the Yankees. Not one bit. The whole money deal -- they just go out and buy All-Stars every day. That's not how baseball should be done. This just couldn't get any better right now."
Sounds already like alot of our early picks are lookign forward to playing for the Sox and are not going to be difficult to sign. The only tricky one I think is our second pick Daniel Bard (Boras is his agent I think). Some of the later picks are the tricky ones.
