MLB 2012 - Giants Win!!

Re: MLB 2006

Another walk off by the Red Sox ! Loretta ! Game ending double.

Ya' gotta love the excitement of The Saaawx !

Re: MLB 2006

Well,a loss against the lowly Tampa has the Red Sox 4-6 for their last 10,and slipping in the race for the AL east title.
Your favorite whipping boy Wells takes the loss and now has an 8.5 ERA :o

This series and the upcoming one against the Royals would seem imperitive to win in the run home.

Meanwhile Mark Prior gets his first win against fellow scrubbers Pittsburgh.
Former Red Sox draftee Matt Murton continues his good run post All Star game with another blast onto Waveland Ave in our 7-5 win.
Go Cubs!!

PS Did anyone see the special in the travel section in this saturdays Age travel section? My eyes nearly popped out at the sight of Wrigley field and the famous old sign on the front page.
The reporter had the enviable task of visiting Fenway,Yankee Stadium and Wrigley field for his feature on baseball and its famous stadiums.
He had to buy tickets from scalpers to get into Fenway and Wrigley so clearly didn't do enough research before he left OZ.

Re: MLB 2006

I wish the season started 3 weeks ago!
The baby bears are 12-16 with no Wood,Lee,Maddux and Millar.
The starting rotations oldest pitcher is 26!
Rookies now fill 4 of 6 starters as well,so maybe we can find a few gems to get us on track next season.
I read an amazing stat today on MLB.com,today 7 pitchers featured in wins for there clubs today who have come through the Chicago Cubs farm system...Nolasco,Borowski,Maddux,Garland,Tracsel,Dempster and Marmol....just for today alone.......amazing!!
The scouts for the pitching has been superb, but as for slugging :help

Whats happening with the billion dollar babies of Boston??
Losing to the worst side in the majors in Kansas after a series loss against the nearly as bad D-Rays? :rofl
Better sharpen up,3 from11 aint pretty!!

Re: MLB 2006

C'moooooon Red Saaaaaaawx !!!!

This is Redford P. Reds coming to you live from Boylston Street in America's best city: Boston ! ;D

2 minutes away from catching the T to Fenway Park. The Copley station is right outside my hotel. Just 3 or 4 stops down the track to Kenmore station and Fenway !

Went on a guided tour of Fenway this afternoon and am about to head back now for the game against Detroit. Seats are 14 rows back from the field, right on the first base line !

What a great matchup ! Schilling v Bonderman. C'moooooon Schill !!! You can do it !!

Well, gotta run. Only had 3 hours sleep in the last 36, which means it can only be time for some Red Sox baseball and copious amounts of beer.

Oh, geez........

C'MOOOOOOON RED SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOX !!!

Kaput.......the Motor City Kittys blow you away.
Dangerous waters now Rudefart,The stink and sh!te sox are slipping away....

Meanwhile the Cubby Bears win their 4th in a row in an 18 inning :o marathon outlasting the Asstrolls in Hooston.
All 25 of the Cubs roster took part including the 2 starting pitchers of the previous games,as pinch hitters and the starter for tomorrows game had to close with the last 2 innings!! :rofl

Suck *smile* to Roger Clemens for being outduelled by a 22yo pitcher with 1 game under his belt, and to Brad Lidge for blowing the save in the 9th :hihi

Re: MLB 2006

Awesome night (absolutely packed, great atmosphere everywhere), but disapointing in the end.

The Redford P. Reds curse continues. I'm 0-4 for live games I've been to of theirs. Geez.

4 more games of theirs to go to over the next few weeks. Surely they can win at least ONE of them ! ! ? Pleeeease !

They started off well with Crisp's HR but Bonderman just got better and better and Detroit played really good/tough baseball and despite Schill pitching well, they still manged to eak out hits at the right time. Bloody Willy Mo should have made a catch that could have produced a different result.

Yep, they are struggling at the moment. Huge series with the Stink coming up over the weekend.

Off to Fenway again tonight. Fat Boy is pitching. C'mon Red Sox ! Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiift !!!

(Get this Bubbles: I know I'm a very attractive man and look very young for my age, but at Fenway last night, I got asked for ID when I was buying a beer ! Can you believe it ! Hah hah hah hah.....)

At least some version of the Tigers won for you...

They are a good team. Very good pitching unit (why couldn't Jones have pitched like he has this year when he was with us ?), disciplined at the plate and not too bad around the field as well.

Sierra Mist. What sort of name is that for a "soda" NYT ? Good grief.

Re: MLB 2006

Excellent round of results today.
NYY and the sh!te Sox lost and Boston got one back on the Kittys.

However the Cubs swept the Asstrolls with a 1-0 in Texas, with yet another rookie Ryan O'Malley who was supposed to relieve for Iowa(AAA) on the same day taking the decision with an 8 inning shutout over Pettitte!
The great news is O'Malley is also a lifelong and 'diehard' as he put it,Cubs fan.
Can't script a fairytale much better for the young lad than that.
LMAO@ the Asstrolls Pettitte and Clemens getting outgunned by two starters with one game experience between them :rofl :rofl   and the big Z smoked Oswalt as well :clap
Maybe the 4 injured all stars won't be able to force their way back in now?!

Hahaha@ a mid-40s balding man getting asked for ID on the booze @ Fenway!
(Although I was asked at Fenway and Wrigley during my mid-20s and Wrigley had beer nazis who trawled around trying to catch underage drinkers whos mates had bought them beer as well!)

Re: MLB 2006

Sweeet Caroline.........

"B'dah dah dah !"

Good times never felt so good...

"So good ! So good ! So good ! "

Red Sox, Fenway Park and Boston.......I love you ! ! ;D

Re: MLB 2006

Maybe they aren't so good after losing the battle of the Luxury taxers in both games in the double header at Fenway. ::)

We're probably looking at the same amount of post season action as your guys at this stage.....saving about 400 mill on payroll into the bargain! :hihi

Re: MLB 2006

Your jealousy about the Red Sox, their greater grandeur and their willingness to do what it takes - as opposed to the soft Chicago Tribune and its unpreparedness to spend a buck - does you no good Bubbles.

Actually, check out today's USA Today. There's an article on (and I quote) "the not so lovable losers."

Very ugly stuff Bubbles....very ugly. You Flubs fans should be ashamed of yourselves.

A 5-0 sweep to your most dreaded rival at home Rudefart is that now curtains for your overpayed overhyped and overrated side??........forgot about that quickly huh?? :hihi

As for your favorite fat guy, heres some news that might cheer you up

Your quote above is wrong BTW.
The article is 'Baker does it tough in Chicago.' You are merely paraphrasing.
The peanuts who send him racist mail are *smile* obviously.
The expectation to succeed however is healthy...why not put pressure on management to win when you've been shithouse for so long??
They said as much themselves in the article, the fanatacism of the fans is what makes them great, the racist garbage and death threats however are terrible and undefendable :thumbsdown
Let me know how you get on at Wrigley, though I'm guessing you'll say its crap regardless of whether you enjoy it somehow  :dummyspit

Re: MLB 2006

This is more like it.

Sorry Dude, hate to correct you, but the article in the actual paper is headlined about the not so lovable Cubs. And I'm bringing a copy of it back to prove it to you. That's only an internet headline you're looking at - albeit the same  story underneath.

As for the Red Sox v the Stink, shocking series. The Red Sox are almost gone. Anyway, what does that have to do with the Flubs who I just watched get beaten by the Silies ?

Rich Hill pitched ok tonight bar one inning. Cubblers rallied late, but lacked a bit of power at the plate tonight. Wrigley was great - if that makes you feel any better Bubbles.

What size White Sox bra were you after again ? I got you a small, anyway.  ;D

(But I got an XXL for the beanie you were after. Hee heee heee heee....whoo ho hooo.....

Geez. Too many beers at Uno Pizzeria. That deep pan stuff is amazing.)

Re: MLB 2006

Where did you sit?

And most importantly where did you drink before and afterwards?? :beer

Not that I'm jealous or anything..... :veryupset :frustration :veryupset

It was fantastic. My mate and I really enjoyed it.

We got there early so we could have a few (more) beers. We started off and the Cubby Bear. I got you a t-shirt from there.

We then went down to Sluggers. Had a couple there.

Then we went into the game. We sat in the centre field bleachers. You could have drawn a straight line from home plate to us. We were about half way up in the bleachers in front of the scoreboard.

After the game finished, we went to Murphys and had a few. Ran into a heap of Red Sox fans which was good.

After that, we went back into the city. Being a bit "tired and emotional" we staggered off from the Grand station on the Red Line over to Pizzeria Uno where we spent a couple of hours drinking more beer and eating a huge deep pan pizza. God the food in Chicago is good. Bloody enormous as well.

Besides a heap of other places, we've been to Ditka's bar and restaurant and also to Harry Caray's. They are just outstanding places. Awesome. In fact, we've decided to finish up tonight again at Harry Caray's. You should see the memorabillia in these places. Just staggering.
