Re: MLB 2006
Excellent, oh how it pains me not to be there as well :'(
I haven't been to Ditkas bar,but have been at Wrigley when he threw the first pitch,he's a huge Cubs fan.
Have been to Harry Careys though.
Its actually a great shame you didn't get to see him sing for the 7th inning stretch,it was a part of baseball fokelore that i'm glad I experienced.
Funny how a goofy looking old bloke was such a revered figure of the city.

And most importantly where did you drink before and afterwards?? :beer
Not that I'm jealous or anything..... :veryupset :frustration :veryupset
It was fantastic. My mate and I really enjoyed it.
We got there early so we could have a few (more) beers. We started off and the Cubby Bear. I got you a t-shirt from there.
We then went down to Sluggers. Had a couple there.
Then we went into the game. We sat in the centre field bleachers. You could have drawn a straight line from home plate to us. We were about half way up in the bleachers in front of the scoreboard.
After the game finished, we went to Murphys and had a few. Ran into a heap of Red Sox fans which was good.
After that, we went back into the city. Being a bit "tired and emotional" we staggered off from the Grand station on the Red Line over to Pizzeria Uno where we spent a couple of hours drinking more beer and eating a huge deep pan pizza. God the food in Chicago is good. Bloody enormous as well.
Besides a heap of other places, we've been to Ditka's bar and restaurant and also to Harry Caray's. They are just outstanding places. Awesome. In fact, we've decided to finish up tonight again at Harry Caray's. You should see the memorabillia in these places. Just staggering.
