where is everybody- I am really missing all that Bo Sox hype!!!
I am looking forward ot reviewing the pre-season predictions and seeing how we all went.

I won that by a mile. Again. 2 years running.

(Bubbles finished last. Again. 2 years running.)

You were last in 2005 you Twat.

Show us where you've been proven right this year before the season ends !!
And answer Hutstars question too..........where's that hype??!!

Hutstar,where's Patsy Disco??
We're all fretting!

Funny you should ask- i spoke to him yesterday and told him he is being missed. He then carried on about how he thought the Red Sox were a bunch of fairweather bandwagoners and he was over them. (parts of this are less true than may be strictly the case).

Re: MLB 2006

So I've won the baseball prediction thingy again ? Two years in a row. Well, I think that entitles me to name it the:

Redford P. Reds Expert Baseball Prediction Trophy.

"Thank you... :clap thank you... you're too kind. I humbly accept this great award...again. Thank you.  :clap Really..please...enough. Thank you.  :clap"

As for Red Sox "hype", what hype ? Its all just never ending and overwhelming interest by the masses in them. Something you blokes and your inferior teams are constantly jealous about. I mean, right now the number one baseball story in the US is about Clemens going back to the Red Sox for a full year next season.

They don't call it Red Sox Nation for no reason you inferior peasants. Now get back to the fields and your tills and cutters.

Be off with you !

Hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!

In short that means you've paid the luxury tax for *smile* all!!!!

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

And claim imaginary trophys to boot!!!

Thanks for the comedy....the best part is you don't even realise how funny it is.

Or perhaps the:

Redford P. Reds Basbeall Nostradamus Award.

Hmm. That has a nice ring to it.

Agreed.....you must know alot about Basbeall as you know *smile* all about Baseball :rofl

Too Funny

Re: MLB 2006

You know, winning this title every year is nice, but I would like to give a bit back to the game that has treated me so well for so long. I therefore propose an award for the “triers” who finish well out of the running each year and for it to be called the:

“Bubbletown3121 Warm Up the Bullpen Award”

You know …a bit of a “Best Clubman” type of thing.

That way, nobody feels left out, or inferior.

Yes.indeed....I'll need to give this basbeall a whirl sometime.

Your right you know.

I'm sure he knows his right....but does he know his left ? Haaaaaaaargh haaaaaaargh !

You play with fire Bubbles, and YOU'RE gonna get burnt. Hah ha hah hah....

Now. Back to more important issues. What should I wear to the Grand Final parade - seeing as the AFL has asked me to attend with my Redford P. Reds Baseball Nostradamaus Award ? I was thinking my Aramani suit, but seeing as the streets will be packed with bogans, I think I'll just go t-shirt and shorts. Maybe my Red Sox 2004 World Series Champions t-shirt will do. Or is that going over the top seeing as most people don't have one to wear ?

Your confused with the inbreds Mardi-Gras that your supposed to be hosting in your hometown Hobart aren't you ?

Why don't you wear the 2006 "We payed Luxury tax for *smile*-all" commemorative shirt instead ?

Re: MLB 2006

You gotta get over the fact you aren't a big time team and thus arent (or don't) have the money to spend. BTW. What car do you drive and why aren't you driving something cheaper ? The increased cost, increased insurance, etc etc. If you've got money, use it.

Now. Apparently Demetriou has got me going around in a peasant held chariot - none of this antique car stuff.

Bubbles. Get your ar$e down to the Grand Final parade and I'll see if I can swing you a job carrying my chariot. I'll throw you down some grapes.

Re: MLB 2006

The White Sox out of the race, what a shame :P

Hate the Twins... so now everybody here, jump on to the Detroit TIGERS :clap :gotigers

Re: MLB 2006

I don't mind the Twins. Have done very well with their farm system, putting up with a crap stadium and working with a limited payroll. Also would like to see the Detroit Tigers do well too.

The number one focus is for the MFY to be bundled out of the playoffs asap.

Re: MLB 2006

Tigers lost to the Blue Jays (8-6)!

Only lead the Div by half a game now... and only 3 games to go.

If we end up second, we will more than likely have to play the Wankees :thumbdown

The Cubs are a big time team!
No1 in the NL for merchandise, sellouts (2005) and away attendances.
As covered a million times we have owners focussed on making money and not success driven...and thats a shame.

That doesn't make the Boston Big Bux implosion less funny though, especially when compared to the Twins,Tigers and As budgets! :rofl

As for my car,its provided by my company.....fuel, insurance, rego, servicing and all,so think of another analogy!

I will agree on the wanks though, now the Shyte Sox have gone ;D all we need is for them and St Louis to crash and it will be an enjoyable series still.

Im sure you and Adrian Anderson will get along famously, your so much alike after all.

Re: MLB 2006

Forbes rates the Flubs as the 6th biggest club in baseball.

Re: MLB 2006

What a stuff up, the Tigers slipped to the wildcard spot and now have to play/beat the Wankees to make the playoffs!

Yeah, well here's hoping you give them a FLOGGING !!!

YANKEES SUCK !

Re: MLB 2006

Thanks for that,very interesting.

However, after reading through,it does reveal that the expenditure on players and revenue generated (read lack of it) because they play at "The antiquidated" Wrigley Field has a large impact on their evaluation.
I would rather be ranked lower by Forbes than move from Wrigley Field and generate higher income any day Im afraid.

How you measure how big a side is can be highly speculative, if you go by expenditure and success then we're a relative minnow.
If you go by popularity and tradition then we are indeed a big club.

I flatly refute that the Mariners are a bigger club than the Cubs or indeed the Cardinals for that matter!!!

I read an English report on a study into Stadia Rudefart.
It claimed what they had gleaned from the US was that clubs who had built new modern stadiums and 'branded' their naming rights had dis-enfranchised themselves with their fans and the Cities themselves.
It actually named Wrigley and Fenway as sporting museums compared to souless corparate stadiums worth avoiding!!

Geez ESPN annoy the shyte outta me at the moment.
About an hour dedicated to the *smile* Yankees pre match, and I kid you not less than 5 mins on the post match of the Twins/As game.
Showed only one of the five runs scored, but spent 25 mins babbling crap about the trauma of pay-Rod in NY.

Get Faaaaarked Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you get smashed........and the Red Turds too.

Re: MLB 2006

I agree with all of that.

Teams like the Red Sox and Cubs short change themselves of revenue because of their unwillingness to move away from their historic roots and play in larger stadiums with oodles of expensive corporate boxes. However, that decision to me is a wiser one in the longer run for the aforementioned reasons ie disenfranchising fans, corporatisation etc.

I hope the Red Sox never move from Fenway.

One of the reasons the Stink have such a higher revenue earning base than the other teams is the fact they have taken their brand to the world. Around the world, they sell umpteen times more merchandise than teams like the Red Sox, Cubs, Cardinals etc. do. Its up to these teams to market themselves more globally than nationally.

But part of that successful global marketing involves winning i.e. global recognition of baseball teams comes with winning. And that in turn is why the Stink are always prepared to spend whatever it takes to win. They know that if they don’t spend to win, they’ll lose twice as much via some of their revenue streams – such as merchandise.

Stink. I hope Detroit belt them.

Re: MLB 2006

Time to hit the Dusty Highway back to San Fran un-fabulous Baker boy.

Yes injuries did cruel your time, but considering what you had at your disposal in 2003 and 2004 its time to go. :wave
Interestingly, the Giants job is available again after Felipe Alou got the bullet.
Maybe Dusty can go back to San Fag as manager again?
