PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

There's no doubt we've been a fairly slow team in recent years and played some ordinary footy to watch so I'm looking forward to the speedier style of play we're all anticipating.

It seems we've mainly recruited for speed but I hope we have other plans in place too.

Our players never really hurt the opposition and make them think twice about getting crunched when they go near the ball.  I know a couple do it very well but over all we not only lack a bit of mongrel we also get bumped off the ball far too easily.  We aren't that strong at breaking tackles either.

I hope those areas of deficiency are being addressed too.  It's wonderful to be a speed machine if you have a chance to run but not much use if you can't lay or break a decent tackle when required.

I look forward to these kids developing really strong bodies to complement their pace and make them really complete footballers.
