Is Damian Monkhorst our ruck coach now? Is Alessio still around too?

OT but best wishes to Brent Monkhorst who is in an induced coma requiring a heart transplant after a sudden illness a couple of weeks ago. Good luck for a speedy and successful recovery.

Re: Monky

Round 1 I saw Monky at the game in a Richmond polo top. He was just entering the ground in general admission. Dont know any more than that.

Re: Monky

Monky was on the ground in official Richmond clobber and looked to be talking to the rucks when they came off. My husband and I had a bet if it was Monky or not so I asked a someone and it looks like I lost. :'(

Re: Monky

Yes I heard Dermott Bereton comment about it yesterday morning on SEN. When he started talking about the Monkhorsts kids I sighed and thought 'ok this is going to be about future father/sons for Collingwood' - but then he started talking about Brent and the terrible state he's in. Anyhow here's hoping that he makes it and maybe even one day pulls on a Pies jumper.

Re: Monky

My seat is right behind the bench and everytime Patto and Polly came off yesterday Monky was there pumping them up, giving them advice. It seemed good. I noticed he had a bit of a go at Patto in the 3rd which Patto didn't like very much, but it seemed to light a bit of fire under him for the next time he was back on the ground.

Is Monkhurst our ruck coach?

Is Monky our ruck coach? if not then who was that big unit doing the warmups pre match on saturday in front of the afl members?

Best wishes to Damian's son Brent for a speedy recovery, and is out there enjoying life with his family & friends asap.

Great story. Really didn't look too good there early daws.

Hope it goes well for them.

Great news for big Monky and his family. Hope everything continues to go well for Brent.

Monkhorst, 37, played 205 games for Collingwood and 10 for St Kilda over 13 seasons.
Not many games per season when he was at St Kilda
