Morton - A bargain at 35?

Exactly. At that ball up our runner instructed Kel Moore to run back to defence, leaving his opponent, Ebert, unmanned. Ball is thrown in, Gray handballs to the unmarked Ebert who kicks it to Treadrea. Game over.
3 tigers were standing alone in no-mans land, then watched the ball go flying over their heads. What happened to Man on Man?

No question there were hundreds of other instances that cost teams goals, but Leysy agrees with the poster that said it was Mortons mentality at the time that was the issue.

He needed to settle, waste a little time then try & spot a target in the forward 50. The best way to ice the clock is to have a set shot at goal. Umpires are far more leniant than with kicks around the ground. Playing straight on, trying to blast the ball indiscriminantly forward whist off balance in the wet wasn't the team play.

Anyway, he's young enough to learn. Hopefully he will.

while i strongly agree with you Leysy, would it be a cop out to say we are not very experienced at icing the clock. We have lead during the last two minutes on so few occasions that we get a bit lost when we need to. Pretty sure last years WB game would be another example

Icing the clock aint that easy any more. Umpires call play on alot quicker than they used to. Makes a better game I say.

I'm confused did he get sprayed for disobeying team rules or missing. If it was team rules I hope he got a spray for the one he pulled out of his arse earlier in the quarter which almost certainly was against team rules. Personally I am sympathetic to players who try to win games at Richmond. I understand that the coaching staff may not be used to it but there you go.
