Someone on SEN said this week is the most important game for richmond in 2 years, I laughed it off at first.....but then he has got a point.

If We win the crowd against essendon will be big 70 000 and tigers supporters starting to get pumped up

If we lose, richmond will cop a bagging and its season over and you might be lucky to get 50,000 at the MCG the following week

so ill have to agree, go richmond
should win, tigers by 33

Settle down,

the most important game in the last two years was round 22 vs hawthorn in 2004.

The loss secured us Deledio and Tambling.

And no I am not joking!

I disagree that it's the biggest game in 2 years.  Too me, the games on the run home last season had some sort of significance for the club to play finals, and I see them more important than a battle to stay off the bottom of the ladder.

In regards to the big crowd against Essendon, this is where us supporters should stay loyal to our club regardless whether we win or lose to the the Blues.

Sheedy has busted his gut to get this fixture for his club and for the Tigers, so the least we can do is to stay loyal and ensure we support this fixture (Dreamtime) and show the remainder of the AFL clubs and Demetriou, that the Tigers can pull in the crowds and maybe they'll raise an eyebrow for bigger and better things (Anzac Day). ;).  If we don't stay loyal and get every Tiger bum on the seats, then we'll be shooting ourselves in the foot.

The last meeting between these two teams was massive game for us....and we blew it big time...... also the game against the Eagles last year when we came back only to lose by 2 points (week after we lost NB) i have never been so shattered.....if we hadve pulled that off i hav no doubt we wouldve made the finals.

- I agree with Blaisee....securing Deledio and Tambling could well be the most import game in club history!!! ;)

Agree,well said & good post.

:clap GPB

After a terribly disappointing season, the last game last year against the smug b@stard Thompson's pussycats may not have been crucial for the ladder but it was important to me. Cambo's last game and whether the Boys had the True Tiger Spirit

I'm totaly with this guy here. Round 21,'04 v hawthorn was very important because of the players we secured.  For those two weeks  I was barricking for us to loose.
The best game in the past 2 years was v Port Adelaide last year, Round six at Telstra Dome. Richos 200th and a comeback from behind victory. It was a great day

I believe that the game against Essendon is an AWAY game for US, a HOME game for THEM.

Unless there is a gate sharing agreement in place, I don't particularly care whether there is a 50K or 70K attendance.

Hopefully we beat both Carlton & Essendon, but I'll just be looking to see a continuing improvement from the boys. With continued improvement, the games will look after themselves.

we wont be playing important games until the list is well balanced with talented players, the kids have 50 to 80 games under their belts and all the long term losers are gone.

They have a good record against recently since 2002 when they have been crap and we have only beaten them once. Fev and Waite makes it harder but I think he can beat them if we have the right match ups for Fev Waite, Kouta and Fisher up fwd.

Priority,
If you want to talk about the best game in the last 2 years....then the WAY we played against Carlton (first half in particular) last season at the MCG was the best I have seen Richmond play....well....just about EVER!
Think we kept them to 1 goal in a half of footy, and were about 13 goals up at the break... :o
Hope we can do similar tomorrow night! 8)
