We had 5 players who had come off the rookie list playing on Friday night - Thursfield, Axel, Howat, King, Gus. Has any club ever achieved this before?

And also is it a blight on our recruiting that these players have come on better than our top 20 picks or do we applaud the recruiters for finding these players?

We had 7 if you count Shane Tuck from his Hawthorn days. We also had 7 in Rounds 9 & 10 with Kent Kingsley (former Kangaroos rookie) in place of Graham.

West Coast had 9 in R13 - Armstrong, Cox, Fletcher, Graham, Chad & Rowan Jones, Lynch, Nicoski & Priddis.

Brisbane (4 times), Melbourne (twice), Fremantle & Carlton have fielded 8 rookies.
