My 5c on the Geelong game's talking points

To balance my supposed vendetta against Tambling he has shown a willingness to push himself more and try harder but trying harder and being able to execute it are two different things.Running headlong into two Geelong players is brainless. His turnovers also cost us goals. In a finals situation those turnovers could cost us a match. He is a very tradeable player.

always a bling basher around grow up he wasent the only one to turn it over ffs hes still only young at lest hes got the balls to try and take em on

id be more worried about a 25 year old defender not defending then a 21 y old taking players on

Thanks Hopper - don;t get MyStar - so I have to rely on radio or your (or others) quality posts.

:clap

Clearly Thursty needs a rest - bet his knee is tiring badly this time of year. He'll come back even better next season! He can't bulk up yet with the knee still in recovery/rebuild mode. In the same mould as Silvagni - great closing speed when fully fit! He'll be OK - not bad for a Rookie pick!

He wasnt the only one to turn it over but he was one of the key turnover kings.Using being young is a bit of an excuse for some players.Do you use the same criteria for Joel Selwood?Tambling has been in the system long enough. He isnt going to learn any new tricks.I hope he proves me wrong.

diffrence is we have had possion of the ball we didnt have the ball we mc stuffup wasent on hes man in defence and u must be blind if u cant see that bling has turned the page

Yes Tambling's disposal was very ordinary, but it's not as if this has been the case all year. All players have the occasional off day. Jimmy Bartel had 18 clangers from 32 touches 2 weeks ago.

I actually think we are largely agreeing here, either way I don’t see a upgrade at FB being in the 3 or 4 of our hierarchy of need
what you are in fact saying is our onballers/mids are crap care to name them.

me i rcognise we have much to do right across the board but my thinking is you look after your spine first. or in particular your defense. three things are a must a bash and crash ruckman with backup. excellent chb fb with adequate backup. sufficient big bodied go get their own ball onballers who can kick.
atm we have just 3 kpds two are terribly undersized and should not be playing in the key posts, and the other who has some size is yet to play a game. quality kpps are hard to come by but mids/ onballers are spread right thru most drafts.

we have chronic shortage in most areas when possible target an area and go a long way to fixing your problems in one area in one go where possible.

an eaxample is we took rance at 18 if we had 19 target pears with 35 target another tall defender or onballer which ever is best rated. 3 tall defenders last draft and this draft we could focus only on onballers and kpfs. as it is we are still plugging holes in all areas.
