Full back is the most contentious position - you could make good cases for Scarlett, Rutten, Glass, Hudghton, Fletcher or Barry. I've even heard Brian Harris mentioned.

I haven't seen any official stats on this, but a few weeks ago someone quoted Rutten as leading Scarlett by a couple of goals. Since then Scarlett's had a few kicked on him by Thompson, Bradshaw and Gehrig. Also kept Richo to 1 with a broken wrist and played forward yesterday in the absence of Neitz. Wouldn't begrudge him the position though as he provides more drive than Rutten, Glass and Hudghton.

James Brayshaw selected Andrew Raines to be in his all-Australian team.
The other fools said that Raines has played a good year, but doubt he'd be named in the all-Australian team this year. Their reasoning was he has played one good year and believe to be selected as an all-Australian, you need to player 2-3 consistant years of good footy.

The 2006 All- Australian Team should be pick purely on the form in 2006 and not take into consideration past years performances.

i'd love to see raines make all australian but he definately has tough competition.
there is no doubt however that the all australian 2006 team should be based purely on 2006. if it was based over a number of years the team that i'm sure will be selected would have to have half its players cut out due to form and injuries in past seasons.

Agree, but what I think they were hinting at is that it takes a few years of consistent form to get the required reputation with the selectors to make the side. Good as Raines has been, it's doubtful that he'd be in the picture with the selectors.
Pettifer deserves a spot on the pine... no way Raines! good yr for the kid but dont be fool's. This topic needs to maintain credibility..
I agree no Raines nad Glass for me at full back easy. And I still think Simmonds has had a better year than Lade.

doing reasonable in the ruck....Or Lade who hasn't had the possessions or goals like Simmonds but his actual tap work
is unbelievable a standout in this area for sure.......Although Simmonds gave Lade a touchup when they went head 2 head
that could be the advantage for Simmo.
