PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

has been the inability of our kids to step up.

I'm very concerned about the fact that:

Schulz still has very, very big questions marks.
Deledio can't seem to break a tag.
Tambling still can't find the football more than a dozen times a game.
Meyer is a huge disappointment so far.
Raines seems to have dropped off a little from last years effort.
JON can find the opposition more than he can find a team mate.
After McGuane's good start to the year... back to the burgers and not able to recapture his best.
Hughes not getting enough of it. (When he does it's usually good)
We're still relying on the same guys who basically do the same thing every week. I'm talking bout Tivendale, Pettifer, Johnson and Tuck.
We have too much reliance on Richo, and he's 32 years old.

I've been impressed with:

Polak
Foley
Newman's recovery from injury.
Edwards showing signs.

I'm really glad we've got some assistant coaches to help our young players. Hopefully Craig McCrae can bring the best out of all of them, but I'm worried about our ability to do so. Mark Murphy for example seems far more composed than Deledio. I rated Deledio, but he's a huge concern at the moment for me. He's only 4ish months older than Murphy, so it shouldn't be too much more to ask of Lids to stand up.

I'm also really concerned that players like Jay Schulz are just not delivering. Sure our midfield are playing like crap, and don't give the big guys much opportunity to beat their opponents on a lead, but he just doesn't run hard enough. I could go on forever, but I won't.

Does anyone else have something else to add, maybe something positive that isn't just "hope", but something factual? Not even half way through, and I'm about ready to start grinding an axe with Greg Miller's name on it.
