Not bad, could be very close.

Only fault I see is your backline of:
Thirsty 190cm, Gaspar 193cm & Kellaway 190cm.

Then followed by a HB line of:
Bowden 188cm, Schulz 192cm, Johnson 186cm.

Even though February tends to favour taller players with good conditions, this defence looks a bit overly tall.
It could get very easily cut up against a Western Bulldogs side at Telstra that will have good mediums and smalls in attack.

I suggest that you might have a good look at a likely Bulldogs side, see what advantages they have that need to be covered, see what advantages we can get over them, and plan your side accordingly.

Good luck.

My Round 1 Team

B: Brent Hartigan - Darren Gaspar - Andrew Kellaway
HB: Joel Bowden - Jay Schulz - Chris Newman
C: Chris Hyde - Shane Tuck - Brett Deledio
HF: Kayne Pettifer - Ray Hall - Andrew Krakouer
F: Nathan Brown - Matthew Richardson - Richard Tambling
FOL: Troy Simmonds - Mark Coughlan - Kane Johnson
INT: Trent Knobel - Patrick Bowden - David Rodan - Greg Tivendale
EMR: Adam Pattison - Will Thursfield - Matt White

B Hartigan Gaspar Kellaway
  Johnson Williams Robbins

HB Bowden Schulz Thursfield
    Eagleton Minson Hargreaves

C Coughlan Deledio Newman
  Griffen     Cooney  Briss

HF Hall       Pattison  Pettifer
    Smith    Murphy   Gilbee

F  Brown Richardson Tuck
   Giansiracusa Harris Morgan

R Simmonds Johnson Rodan
  Street       West      Ray

Res Foley Hyde Knobel Tambling or Meyer
Boyd Cross Hahn Mcmahon or Wight

Who ever wins in the midfield will win this game. If West gets on top early maybe Hyde or Newman will go to him. Deledio and Rodan will be too good for Cooney and Ray and Street will be spent by qr time. Richo will take 15 marks and our tall players up forward will do well. Tigers by 25 points in a shoot out. ::)

The forward line is to top heavy, plus why is tuck in the FP?

There is no way Deledio would start on the ball before Tuck and Coughlan.

Tigerman and Checkside,
Coughlan and Tuck are very good midfielders but I think Terry will try and blitz the opposition with speed early in a match, particularly at Telstra. Enter Deledio and Rodan. Maybe for say 15-20 minutes a qr before bringing one or both off for a rest, and putting in Cogs, (Foley, Hyde, Newman) and Tuck.

Cogs running in from a wing will belt opponents at the center bounce rather than having to twist and turn so much.. and so put less pressure on his groin especially early in the qr, while Tuck who is a very good mark will help to reduce the pressure on Richo, with his attack on the ball and opponents and his work to keep the ball in the area, unlike either Krakoeur or Stafford who both struggle to chase.

As to whether the forward line is too top heavy maybe in bad conditions but not under the roof against the Dogs at Telstra. Pretty sure Hall and Richo will line up as selected. CHF is the least certain position in the team. Schulz will start the season at CHB. Hughes and probably Mcguane aren't ready. Pattison will get first crack if he does ok in the NAB. If he doesn't then maybe P Bowden will edge him out. :hihi

My Round 1 Team:

F- Andrew Krakouer - Matthew Richardson - Nathan Brown
B- Jordan McMahon - Brian Harris - Mitch Hahn
HF- Kayne Pettifer - Patrick Bowden - Richard Tambling
HB- Brent Montgomery - Ryan Hargrave - Cameron Faulkner
C- Brett Deledio - Mark Coughlan - Chris Hyde
C- Ryan Griffen - Daniel Cross - Nathan Eagleton
HB- Andrew Kelleway, Ray Hall, Chris Newman
HF- Rohan Smith, Robert Murphy, Daniel Giansiracusa
B- Brent Hartigan, Darren GAspat, Joel Bowden
F- Brad Johnson, Chris Grant, Tom Davidson

R- Troy Simmonds, Shane Tuck, Kane Johnson

R- Will Minson, Scott West, Adam Cooney

INT: Nathan Foley, Jay Schulz, Trent Knobel, Andrew Raines

INT: Farren Ray, Wayde Skipper, Tom Williams, Adam Morgan

I know i have forgotten someone but i dont know who

Geez this is a hard task but I'll have a crack
Small BP: I see us not having a lot of options here but I would give first go to Harts just suits our new style well the way he tucks the ball under the arm and runs it out of defence,Newman,Cassa and Humm other options
FB: Has to be Gas but I really think Will will be the man come round 1 2007
3RD Tall: I think we have a few options here but Andy Kellaway surley still deserves to be our best in this role,Moore,Wil,Hall and a few others will get a chance no doubt.
HBF:Joel has made this spot his own in recent years but some would say could be used in other roles but why take the AA away from his spot till someone demands it.Sugar,Newy,Cassa,Jacko im sure will have runs here too.
CHB:Sarge will get first crack,Hall is probally the only other option at this stage depending on the apponents CHF of course.
Wings:Few options here what we really need is somebody to make it there own ,Lids would be perfect as an attacking wingman at this stage of his career being able to use his run and ball carrying abilty along with the fact he is likley to kick 30 plus goals of a wing IMO .Tiva,Hyde are also options here and no doubt will play there at some stage but I think Bling looks like he appreciates the space at this stage of his carrer and I would give him a wing for the first half of the year and see how he gos,Meyer and Raines have to be options as well.
HFF:Petts has ernt one flank but would'nt want to drop the pace for a second,P Bowdo im sure will get a chance to be used as a hard working flanker who pushes hard up the ground opening it up behind him he will probally change with the wingers a bit too give them a breather too I see hall playin a similar role too.Brown with fitness will probally push up a bit too and my dark horse to become a permanent HFF D Meyer.be nice to find to flankers who kick 30 plus goals.
CHF:Richo still has to be our best option but I doubt he will play there all the time,Pato,Hall,Sarge,P Bowdo,Simo will all probally play a role here at times.
F P:Due to injury Browny is a good thing to get one pocket.Krak,Rodan,Meyer and maybe even Jon will get opportunitys as crumbing pockets as for the Big pockets Staf,Pato and maybe even Cleve will get a go here.
FF Richo once again has to be our best option here but team balance is a major thing now,Sarge,Staf and Cleve all chances at times.
Ruck: Simo mainly with Knobel to help out and cameos fro Staf and Pato
Midfielders:Cogs,Tuck are walk up starters with rotaions form Sugar,Rodan,Axe,Lids,Bling,Polo,Newy,White and anyone who stands up.
So my team for early 2006 would be something like this
Harts Gas A Kellaway/Wil
Bowdo Sarge Newy/Sugar
Lids Sugar Bling/Meyer
Petts/Meyer Pato P Bowdo
Brown Richo Rodan
Simo Tuck Cogs
I figure there is still a lot of spots up for grabs and its up too each player to grab it with both hands and make it there own

I'll have a go, just for the sake of it ...
B. Hartigan Gaspar Kellaway
HB. J.Bowden Hall Thursfield
c. Deledio Newman Johnson
HF. Pettifer *smile* Rodan
F. Krakouer Richo Foley
Foll. Simmo Tuck Coughlan
Int. Stafford Roach Hyde Tambling

Can't see Tivendale getting a gig at this stage, but I wouldn't be surprised.
I've said all along I doubt Browny can get enough work into him for Rnd1 without something setting him back at some stage.
Also can't find a spot for Knobel.
I question my own non-use of younger players. I have a feeling TW will throw a couple more (Meyer, Raines, Polo and the like) into the mix early on.

Ill have a go!!!!!!!!
B: Hartigan Thursfield Gaspar
HB: J Bowden Shulz Deledio
C: Johnson Tuck Tambling
HF: Pettifer Simmonds Hall
F: Brown Richardson Krakouer
R: Knobel Couglan Newman
Int: A Kellaway, D Polo, D Rodan, N Foley

Emg: G Stafford, P Bowden, A Raines

Go Tiges ( Predicting D Polo to have a huge year)
