i just found this comment in the herald sun by a reader...it was at the bottom of an article about how crap richmond are..i totally agree witht his guys thoughts...

"So Collingwood beats Melbourne by 20-odd points last week and it was a hard-fought win, but when Richmond do it, it's all about negatives? Clearly, Melbourne has improved since the first five rounds. They pushed Hawthorn and pushed Collingwood. Jon Anderson - proving that people who get paid to write about the game don't necessarily know anything about it."

find it funny how people rated the game as a 'bad' win.

Have to give Melbourne some credit there performance in the last month has been good.

Most journalists have already written at least one "Demise of Terry Wallace" story and they are itching to use them. Every time it looks like the time is right, he dodges another bullet. First he won the round 1 "Juddarama," then after poor games against North and Collingwood, they were ready to go again but a month of improved performances stymied them.

Poor efforts against Sydney and Adelaide and they were ready again.

A win against Melbourne means they have to keep the powder dry for another week.

It must be so frustrating for the poor dears. They probably have editors breathing down their necks wanting the circulation boost that only a Richmond Barbecue can provide.

They are hoping it'll be next week now. A couple of positive articles on the Melbourne game won't do anything to help build the tension.

It wasn't an inspiring win by us but it was hard fought.

Besides, I am giving the Dees a remote shot at beating the Swans this week in Canberra. :o

Just a gut feeling that they aren't too far off coming good.

Sydney's tough, close checking, no-nonsense inside game will murder prima donna's like Green, Bruce, Yze etc ToO.

Hmm.. didn't realise the Swannies pumped them both times they met last year.
Might need to rethink that one.

the most disappointing thing from the HS article was that they said we butchered the ball but had the lowest clanger count for the round with only 32

It's a little brick in the argument that our turnovers are caused by our inability to withstand physical pressure. Just as much as by dodgy kicks. Melbourne were puny and useless in their attack on the man with the ball.

BTW during the Melbourne game there were two examples of Melbourne players sending the ball inside while a Richmond player applied a tackle. The tackle had no effect. Perfect disposal.

It's not just about getting there; you gotta make a difference when you do. We're weak. Very physically weak and the word is out on us.

On the contrast between the reporting of Richmond and Collingwood's identical form over Melbourne, we'll have our day.

ToO - your kidding yes? Coming good with what personel? Stynes is President, not Ruck as well ;D

Collingwood supporters I know were happy with the win but not happy with the way they played against Melbourne, which is how I feel about the way we played against Melbourne.

I personally couldn't care less how the media reports it.....it won't affect my view/take on the game.

Why would journos let facts get in the way of a story?
