Woke my 2 yr old son early from his nap, so as to get to the game right on quarter time. Didnt want the car park to close ( had that happened to be before ) drove in singing the tiger theme song ( loves the yellow and black bit the best ).

Parked and put him on my shoulders and walked all the way to the gate. went to scan my membership, and it kept flashing red. Called the gate bloke over, ( a lovely old fella ) who retorted....

" your'e at the wrong ground mate ...the tigers are playing at the telstra dome " I replied with " you have to be f@@ing joking"
Carlton are playing the tigers at the dome !!??, when we could of played at the g !!??" "what is this world coming to???!!!! " to which he replied, " well you may as well just buy a ticket and stay here"

I didnt .

We drove to the dome for the second half.

My son didnt mind. And he saw the tigers first win, and got to sing the song at the ground in the end

Alls well that ends well

cheers

Blaisee

Well it was a Carlton home game and their home ground is the Dome so is shouldn't really have been such a surprise.

But jb03....

Its sacriliege....
Blasphemy
heresy
Corruption
Moral perforation
Absolute anachronism
Flamin violation of tradition.....
Bloody traversty of justice.......

If we had ahve played the bloose at the"g",we wouldve kicked 30 goals.....there,s nothing like religious passage than to give the bloose a public flogging at the unassailable, and undisputed Godlike arena of the "g"..... :help :-X :-\ ;) :-\

sorry JB

but i thought that the mcg was meant to cater for bigger crowds and blockbusters

even allowing for their current ladder positions I would have thought that the blues and the tigers counted as a blockbuster

they are 2 members of the big 4

Blues v Tigers is no longer a blockbuster & we played each other at the dome last year also. Will be awhile before this again becomes a blockbuster.

It will never ever happen again the Blues will always be rubbish we maybe playing them next year interstate when they sell their home match.

NOOOOOO we need to lobby the AFL to be one of the teams to play North @ Cararra...

I want to be able to justify to the missus two QLD trips per year ;)

No never mb, the Blues will always be rubbish

well thank carlton's ex-president and TD stadium manager for the dud stadium deal they got. it's a disgrace they left princess park. they should be playing 4-5 games there per year against the interstate teams and lower drawing melbourne teams. they wouldn't be in as much debt if this happened.

doesn't beat my day early last season when we played the hawks...

the game was at the G. as i live in the west, i catch the train to spencer st and change trains to go to jolimont or richmond (via the loop). so i got off spencer st and and changed platforms. i ran as there was a train waiting. i jumped on it. the train took off, went past the loop and decided to park itself under the la trobe st bridge. with the help of the train driver i jumped off the train and he lead me over the railyards back to spencer st. :-[

Shame you missed the 2nd quarter Blaisee - was arguably our best for the year with 9 goals and a stack of highlights.

Could have been worse mate...imagine if you only caught the 2nd half last week! :o
