NAB Rising Star Award 2006

Thanks for the updates everybody.   :clap

As a one-eyed tiger I think the result is rather sucky, but still a big "onya!" to Rainesy for polling second.

No votes for Weeble or Dean though? Humph!   >:(

Ms Tantie.

How often has a defender won the award? I think the voting is weighted towards midfielders/forwards but could be wrong.

thats why i had $20 on pearce at $11

also had $10 on raines at $5 so take that away

gold old impact strikes again

I'am Pearced off,its a bloody conspiracy , Rainsy should have taken the award.Well done anyway Andy........ :clap :clap :clap

We are too biased here and most probably dont watch a lot of Port games. Pearce is no doubt talented and I would havebeen happy if either he, Raines or Murphy won it.

Congrats on a great year Andy!  Any chance one of these boy's for next year's rising star -  Cass,Clever,Limbo,Mcguane or JON?

Agree Shawry....Pearce is a worthy winner of this award.

Well done to young Pearce - well deserved. Could have been our Andy who also would have been deserving.

The NAB judging panel has as much creditability as the tribunal.

How can they all pick Pearce, obviously would not know a decent player if it fell on them.

KB gave Shaw 5 votes

Arguments for and against all top 5 winning it. Deserved winner, Raines would have also deserved it, as would have Murphy, Shaw and Bartram too.

Well done to all the top young players.

Some people would still be complaining if Shaw won it   ::)   :P   :help

Congratulations Pearce, if there is one thing I have learned this week is there are many ways to spell a name...

Like i have said it should have went this way:
1-Murphy
2-Thomas
3-Pearce
4-Raines
5-Shaw

Sorry, but I reckon this decision is a load of rubbish.  Pearce's skills are pretty average.  Sure, he has plenty going for him, but I didn't think his season overall was up to Raines' standards.
Not many of the judges agree with you Hopper.
Yep, very true. It's a subjective thing I suppose. I've thought about whether I'm being biased or not and I don't think I am. But cest la vie. It's ok to disagree with the experts sometimes.

Sure is,I was surprised at how easily Pearce won it.

Also thought BD won it too easily last year, could have raffled it between him and Griffin I reckoned.

I think they got the first three right, but I would have liked to have seen Andrew a little closer in second.
Congrats to all nominee's :)

Thomas a bit high on your list el capitan!

Congratulations to Danyle Pearce, I did see him a few times and think he is a worthy winner. :clap

Congratulations to Rainesy on 2nd place, ahead of Shaw and Murphy - well done!

I think I heard it mentioned on SEN earlier, that winners tend to come from the nominations for Round 1-5, which proabably makes sense, as the judges would have them in mind for the whole season.

Pearce may well have won the award but we still have a rising star on our hands.

Congratulations on a sensational season Rainesy! :emblem

PS: Well done to Pearce & I'm glad we beat out that Scum player.
