Wouldn’t mind seeing CCJ. Offers something around the ground and fwd with his marking capabilities
I would give CCJ first crack.

He is the future. And can play up forward.

The CCJ / Balta combo is the future.

I tend to agree.

But we are already pretty choices with the future,

and have to pay some attention to the present.

having said that, Soldo is hardly a wily old warhorse.

Yes, as a 23 year old ruckman I say bring the veteran on.

There is a 2 fold effect here.

Soldo will get his chance but just as important is CCJ having greater responsibility as 1st ruck in the VFL.

If one of these guys is good enough as an AFL ruckman we have been blessed by the old gods and the new.

Excellent point,
If Soldo gets promoted, who would then be 2nd ruck behind CCJ in the VFL?
Chol?

West Coast have lost several players to foot injuries on the hard surface of Optus and threatened or are not training on it anymore? It was a slip on the surface that caused Nanks injury so may be a contributing factor.

Didn't like Burges description of Nanks groin muscle at all

pretty much use some fancy anatomical terms to say

the muscle and tendons ripped off the bone and he's pretty *smile* from a tiny little unlikely slip of the foot.

:pullhair

Criminal Jones, there could be a medal and a chance to join Nathan Broads celebrations son.

a great opportunity for the kid

As a teenager I once got kicked in the exact same spot as Nank’s injury.
Lucky I had my hand down there to protect myself

Was it in hindsight the wrong decision to put Nanks back on the ground? Wonder if it worsened the injury.

Agree.

Off the top of my head:
Vlaustin/Rioli and Astbury all went back on as well

Nank is not there for his tap work.

His real strength is the work he does around the ground.

We just need someone to emulate that.

I think CCJ can do the work around the ground much better than Soldo.

Think you under-estimate Nanks tap work. Other then the best ruckmen he usually succeeeds in squaring the tap work which is a real benefit for us. But I agree for tenacity at ground level there aren't much better ruckmen than him. That's why I was so happy with Balta's performance. Alot of his contested ball work was when he was playing in the ruck.

Will be missed around the ground , not so much for aerial work like some ruckmen , ( he is ok at that too ) but his link up work, like having an extra mid out there at times

I like that he backs oppo players up.

He's a giant Jake King. Plays angry.

Can't wait for the planets to align and both he and Stacks are in the vicinity next time a dog act on Cotch occurs.
