I must say after Browny came back and clearly wasn't up to his lofty standards I was very disappointed.
But once Browny went away and begin rehabbing again without all the media hype, I almost forgot about him.
Watching the kids come through, winning some games that we shouldn't , watching a team of youngsters develop in front of me have all been fantastic. For the first time in a long time we look like having some quality kids coming through under the tutelage of one of the best coaches around. Wow, I never thought I would say that sentence about the RFC.
All these things have lessened the blow of not having the chance to watch Nathan weave his magic, he slipped to the back of my mind. Then it happened. Going past Punt Road in traffic one morning and a solitary figure was running laps, just bouncing a ball. And there was Browny, it kind of shocked me.
I'd forget what we were missing, I'd forgot how good he is, how much we miss him.
It was like putting a jacket away at the end of winter, pulling it out six months later and finding a $100 bill crumpled up in the pocket.
Now I don't expect Nathan to be back at his best next time he steps on stage for the Tigers but I do expect to smile to myself and not forget he is out there. Good luck Browny, keep chugging away on your own doing the hard work when no one is watching. I just cannot wait for him to slot through that first goal on his return.
Nathan Brown- the Forgetten man...for now.
