Nathan Brown to be on Footy Classified CH 9

I know we're really at a loss for creditable options for skipper, but can someone explain to me why Richo should be skipper.

I really luv the guy's determination, yellow & black blood etc, but for what it's worth (and shoot me down, I'm ready) he still abuses
players upfield if they don't kick it to him, still visibly has poor body language even though there has been some improvement,
shocking kick for goal when the pressure is on etc.

As more than two thirds of our team are 21 and under, do they really need that type of leadership in the heat of battle. I know Richo can inspire anyone with some of his marks etc, but surely being skipper is more than that.

Positives: He is quite good with the media and I know off field a lot of young guys look up to him but my concern is really on field leadership and that has been our problem ever since Knighter left us if not even before that.

Go easy on me ;D

Why would you go for Brown ahead of Richo. The main reason Brown came to the club was for the big bag of cash we gave him.Richo has been with us all the way through & deserves it ahead of Brown.

Maybe It's because Richo can't behave himself. I know his on-field behaviour has improved somewhat, but he still acts like a spoiled brat when things don't go his way.

I'd prefer the shared captaincy scenario like at the swans. the candidates would be Browny, Richo, Simmo with the inclusion of one of the guys from the junior leadership group, Maybe Foley, Newman, and Lids. The ratio being 2 senior guys and one of the junior guys. The idea of the 2 senior leaders grooming the junior leader for outright captaincy in a year or two.

Bowden for mine. After he was dropped (last year I think) he came back with a great attitude and played in career best form. I think if he was given the captaincy we would see more of the same. He is great with the younger guys in the team always giving advice and encouragement. Often under rated by opponents (even a lot of supporters) - his value to the team would grow with the captaincy. All IMHO of course!

Don't let him anywhere near the number 17 jumper

If you want a your captain to spit the dummy every 5 minutes and regually put your teammates down,
Especially the kids..............By all means hand it over to Richo. ::)

What nonsense,he wear's his heart on his sleeve & can you tell me when he last put a teammate down.

Riewoldt got a spray a while back.

For our next captain we don't really have an ideal option......We really are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I just see Brown as next best for the job. I know he's just getting over his injury but Simmo's in trouble, same with Cog's,
Foley/Lid's are not ready & JB doesn't deserve it imo. I'd like either Cog's or Simmo to have it but they have other things to worry about.

I really don't want our captain to choke when the pressure is on when the games there for the taking, Like Richo regularly does.
I really don't see the point in giving the captaincy to a player for one season. Especially to a player who's career is coming to an end.
