Nathan G Brown

Hmmmmm 11 possessions, 8 clangers.

Not one to show the kids.

Didn't seem too unfit against Port. Just a bad game, kudos to Whelan.

Agree Jerky Boys.
just because he's one of our best doesn't mean he won't get beaten occassionally.
Credit to Whelan who had a great game.

I know Browny is a pro, but I'd be a bit disconcerted playing on the bloke who snapped my leg.

Very good point TS.
I'd say some of those visions might have crept into his head.
Understandibly so given what he went through that fateful night.

Yeah who knows wat crap may have been coming out of the dees mouth at Browny...can take a toll. Look out next week...very rarely puts in 2 shockers...a proud boy is our NGB!

memo to n brown the games not just about getting a kick and slotting a few goals. chasing tackling shepherding and a myriad of one percenters goes into making you a valuable team member. pull your finger out son.

claw...you must have tossed & turned all night in bed, eagerly waiting to post about Nathan Brown at 11am. It appears to me & others on this site, you are a very harsh critic when it comes to Richmond players. Having said that, your comments should be respected....just like all.
However, next time Nathan Brown kicks a few goals and lifts his side (full of youngsters that you are a huge advocate for) be fair to mention what an inspirational player he can be - You'll be amazed how good that can feel.
Unfortunately Skills for a darksider there is no such thing as a good feeling from seeing one of our boys pick himself up off the canvas and do well again.  :(

Yeah right. Dont hold your breath Skills. Claw making a positive comment about the Tiges?

Very rare.

Not as rare as Dribbler & Laff though. They make positive comments about the Tiges as often as Haleys comet comes around!! ::) ::)

About 10 or 15 minutes into the last quarter, Brownie was loading up to send the ball inside fifty. He was tackeld as he let the kick go. The tackle slipped and I thought it was deja vu! Bugger. Did anybody notice who laid the tackle? It didn't worry Brown. Just got on with it.

Anyways, don't think chat would've had any effect on NGB. Total pro. But he didn't look right. Looked underdone, flat and a little scratchy at various times.

Brownie's opponents would be instructed to blow him up by doing laps of the ground. The responsibility for picking them up won't always fall to NGB at this stage. He be exepected to get some cover from team-mates while he regains fitness. That said, hisd opponents are finding a lot of space at times.

He had a little run in the midfield on Friday night. Might be about to take another step. Still looks like silk at his best.

Browny is a quality player. A broken leg is a broken leg. In someways it would have been better if he had done a knee. He will do alright this year, and crank it up next year with a full pre season.

have a bit of faith

Watching Brown - the tricks he used to get goals in previous weeks just didn't work on Whelan this week. Whelan played him close an physical and with sufficient strength to stop him using his agility. Killed him in other words. Test of a champ is how he picks himself up. If he didn't do the things he should Claw then he does deserve a kick up the butt. Hope he improves in that department.

no ones doubting nb undoubted ability but the defensive side to his game has been badly missing. kayne pettifer has copped heaps from people over the yrs mainly because of a lack of defensiveeffort including me im still not sold on him. browny is no different.

I think the effort of having to back up for games after 2 short weeks took it's toll on a few blokes, remember Browny didn't have a proper pre season and he didn't train fully during his layoff. I can imagine a few ghosts would have raised their head too, no matter what he may have said pre game.
