Richmond will take a new approach to the rest of the 2009 season at the recommendation of the club’s psychologist, Jeff Bond.

“When I came here I said that the culture at the club was like nothing else I’d ever seen in sport,” Bond said. “Unfortunately the club thought that I was paying them a compliment.

“Since then I’ve worked hard to instil a winning culture among the playing group. However, you can’t teach sh!t not to smell.

“So I’ve been working with the club on a different approach. Rather than trying to raise the team’s performance to match the expectations of supporters, we’re going to lower the expectations of supporters to match the capabilities of the team.

“So from this week Terry won’t be talking about making finals. That’s clearly delusional, and I’ve prescribed something to help him with that.

“Instead we’re going to work with our supporters to embrace our rich history and culture. We’re the team that other teams like to play, and we should be proud that we’re so popular.

“After all, who wants to live with the reputation of being feral bogans who eat their own when you can be the tart that everyone gets to shag?

“We’re easygoing, generous, and we have the best song in the AFL. We should be satisfied with that.”
