Finally after what was a very enjoyable and informative PRE-season we’re about to get back into the real stuff. Time for suggestions for the site and for volunteers to put their hands up to help out in various ways. The more we all put in the better the site is.

It would be great if anyone could spend some time to keep score of competitions and voting each week. Many hands make light work. There is the Player of the Year and Tropical Tipping to be updated each week and PREnder of the Year votes to be tallied monthly.

We already have several original initiatives on PRE. This year we are sponsoring 4 players. Daniel Jackson, Shane Tuck, Luke McGuane and Shane Edwards. Thanks to all those who contributed and good luck in the draw to share the bonuses.

We also have a Player President scheme where PREnders can select a player to be President, or Vice President of, and take on the role of supporting them on the website. Duties include progress reports, announcing milestones, player interviews where possible and generally flying the flag in a positive and supporting manner. Hopefully all Presidents’ will contribute to the concept in the spirit intended.

I’d like to add a poll to the main page each week throughout the season and would appreciate people e-mailing me suggestions and options. Sometimes after a hard weekend on the forum I’m a tad short of inspiration and would more than welcome input. Someone could volunteer to be our official “Poll Suggester” and take on the role for the entire season.

We’ll also be having a weekly review written by PREnders, similar to what we did for footyvoice. Examples here Anyone willing to report on a game please pm me. The preview can take any format, serious, comedy, poetry whatever. We have some great talent on here and the reviews will be a good record of the 2007 Season that Was.

A reminder that we also have the PREnder Profile section on the Main Page. Please contact me if you’re willing to contribute. A great way to get to know a bit more about PREnders lives and thoughts.

We’ll be having a Banner Competition each week where the best banner suggested for the game ahead will be awarded a PuntRoadEnd.com sticker. The 22 weekly winners will be voted on at the end of the season to receive a prize..not sure what I’ll be able to scrape up yet but at least a PRE Stubby Holder.

We have a section on the main page of PRE for Player Interviews, actually 2 sections, one for Richmond players and one for Coburg players. If anyone has any contacts with players it would be great if they could ask if they’d be willing to ask some Q&A’s for us.

Finally there are a dozen or so PRE tops ordered. We need 20 for the order to go ahead. I’m mentioning this here in case people who’ve expressed interest in the past might still be interested and can let me know. A few more orders will make several PREnders who have been patiently waiting very happy.

Design for t-shirts, polo tops and windcheaters thanks to Tigers of Old

There are also PuntRoadEnd.com stickers and stubby holders available for sale. Contact me for further details.

The final this is being bulk e-mailed as well as posted on the forum is to check on bounced e-mail addresses. There were over 800 last time and it’s very time consuming trying to update or delete them. It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could periodically check their address in their profile to make sure it’s a current, valid one.

That’s about it. Remember more hands make light work and offers of help would be appreciated, as would any other ideas and suggestions to improve PRE in any way.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable and successful season ahead.

Go The Mighty Tigers!

I'd like to offer a suggestion regarding what could be a great opportunity for PRE.

No doubt, PRE is a most excellent forum on the RFC & environs,

However, I'm yet to see a website that captures the complete history of the RFC.
Eg
1. A listing of its premiership teams, 1sts, 2nds & U19s.
2. A Hall Of Fame listing with player summaries.
3. The RFC honour board - Presidents, Secretaries, Captains, Coaches, B&Fs, Best Clubmen over the Years.

When a first timer comes on PRE, they should be able to find everything that they need to know about the RFC.
It's certainly missing from the club's official site.

Maybe, Rosy, if you set aside a separate area, as you did with the Junior section, we all could build on it over the 2007 season.

I'm open to everyone's thoughts.

Phantom there's a history page on the Main PRE site and it has links to History, Honour Board etc. See here

It's very out of date and in fact I found the book I was searching for today to update the Honour board. If you can send me all of the Premiership teams I'd certainly eb happy to add them to the History page.

I'd be happy to have a history board too, although Blast From the Past is already there for that purpose.

We have a volunteer for Tropical Tipping thanks to Skybeau. Anyone willing to do the player votes each week?

We have several volunteers to write a game review each but still need several more.

There's enough interest in the t-shirts, windcheaters and polo shirts for an order to go ahead. Am waiting to hear back from the printers in regard to prices. Still time to order if anyone's interested.

Thanks to Panthera tigris FC who has offered to tally the player votes each week.

Now for some more volunteers to write a game review each. :)

Good stuff nitrous. To say the detonations look at the week in footy from a slightly different persepctive is an understatement. Here's to the '07 detonations. :beer

Thanks Cogs, and to mel and iitb for volunteering to write a game review for us.  Will get back to you all soon to arrange a game, or feel free to contact me first to bags one.

Tigergollywog has been kind enough to volunteer as our official poll organiser.

A new poll will be added to the Main page of PRE each week. Remember to check it out and cast your votes.
