The crowd calling that out in unison whenever Robbie went near the ball would be awesome.

actually that's true. A bit like a "ball-YES!"

i know people that know his family and i assure you he's not mexican

His old man (Ramon) played in a brass band and his mum (Rita) worked in the Nike Superstore across the border.

Shoutin ..
as in "shoutin down Nahas"

No ??
Ok what about : "Racey" Nahas ?
as in

nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah angels in the centrefold ?

Nahas

I find Redford stereotyping of Nahas’s proud Aztec heritage offensive and patronizing

I know it's not always cool to correct people, but I respectfully add this for edification in the name of entertainment (and I googled to confirm, so I'm not trying to get high and mighty) ...

I thought he was of Lebanese background as well but if ol' BlueHolden is not spinnin' a yarn then "Yippa" as in "underra underra yippa yippa" or just "Gonzales" because we already have our Sanchez!

it was "ANDELE ANDELE ARRIBA ARRIBA!"

Andele I think means to move fast, like "Let's GO!"

The word "arriba" means "above" or "upstairs". Colloquially,
it is used to mean, "Go, man, GO!" or "Get up and GO!"

While I'm being a pain...

Nahas

it's "my angel is a centrefold"

and anyway....Robbie's heritage is Inuit (Eskimo Joe? ... although 'Eskimo' isn't pc anymore)

Well if Philipoussis was publicly known as 'Scud' when he debuted during the Gulf War, we might as well refer to Nahas as 'Swine' during this flu outbreak.

At least that's what the opposition players will call him when he steals the ball and kicks goals. ;D

Heh Heh. There's a website for songs with misheard lyrics. I think it's called "Kiss This Guy" dot com or something like that (as in "Scuse me, while I kiss this guy!"... in lieu of "Scuse me, while I kiss the sky!") It's pretty good. I had to look it up for "Blinded by the Light" because I was pretty sure the words couldn't have been "dressed up like a douche bag..." !!)
