You are overstating the degree of the challenge. If Sydney loses by 20 goals (which they could do) we only need to win by 35 goals!!

Would be hitting the finals in form that's for sure!!

Not much different in two years, we still dont look like beating sides like Swans and North let alone the Cats.

Yes, on our day we can beat the pies and we ran St kilda close this year, but our final 8 wins were against dogs and Hawks who were down the ladder over recent years too.

Still too much reliance on soon to be retired types like Richo. Bowden, Simmo.

Midfield looks better for sure, but lacking big bodied types due to recruiting for pace.

Many tough years to come particularly after watching our performance against Freo.

I would not say we exceeded any expectations this year.

To finish on positive note however, I thought Moore and McGuane played well this year and Cotchin will be a star.

Lacking big bodies only bcause they are still young. I'm looking forward to seeing Deledio, Cotchin, Connors as bigger bodies runnng through the midfield in 3 and 4 years time. Edwards, Tambling and Collins in there as well as nippy lighter guys. The nucleus is shaping up.

I got that line wrong, wasn't really implying midfield lack big bodies, more the lack of KPP's going forward after 2009. With Polak gone we will probably have to keep Schulz. Lots of eggs in one basket with Rance, but his father was very good. Here's hoping

Think Moore has built up to be a good size don't think Thursfield or McGuane will ever be huge but think thats their body type doesn't mean they will always lack strength some of those wiry types are quite strong Fletcher SOS etc add Rance to the mix & the backs look ok. Cross our fingers the Hughes can develop as our full forward then Schulz at CHF & Riewoldt on a flank should be ok & if Gourdis can develop as a leading forward he has the pace & size to cause some full backs a few head aches.
