Simmo (and Richo) are important to us no doubt, particularly with Knoble failing to develop. Pattison may be the answer for short bursts on the ball but only when Simmo is back to full match fitness.
Until then ....maybe Angus will get the promotion that Cam Howat probably deserves.Tomorrow is probably his most important day in footy to date.

Simmonds is not the #1 ruck in the AFL but is he the #1 player at Richmond? Maybe.
Simmonds bloomed at Freo, with the advantage of the Subi spaces, as a running ruckman. He's continued his good form at Richmond and is one of the best in the caper at this role. But he can be beaten by bigger players at the ruck duels and beaten comprehensively. That's why we need Knobel. He gets more air and hits his opponent harder.
I can see why Simmonds would stand out at Richmond. He's talented, skilled, honest, professional and experienced. How many players do with have with a tick in each of those boxes? BTW how many who cut the mustard are imports?
